Nope US had Shipped Lot of Weapons To afghan And Iraq Which was getting wasted in Bases
When US started Withdrawal they Donated Lot of weapons To Iraq and Afghanistan And Pakistan

Russia is a best example they have Same budget approx as India and almost same Number of forces

Well Russia is also an example of no rational or transparent Military Budget. Russian forces get allocations and disbursements from the Czar based on his own objectives.

There is no real country as unique as India. One of the poorest in the world yet a top 10 Economy. Crumbling Infrastructure but yet a world beating Tech Industry and capability. Surrounded by Hostile Neighbours and fighting over 100 odd insurgent groups while growing GDP 7+% for over 2 decades. Top 10 Defence budget but failing healthcare system which is now a bigger national security threat than not having 126 MRCA's

We need unique solutions that fit India. We need efficiency and good governance.

What for do we need so many tanks?

Pakis have a decent Armoured corp i agree but will they have the money to fuel their machines like spare parts,missiles etc..i know they can get oil by bending on their back.

China cannot sustain a long tank battle in a two front war.

So why dont we use that money to fund our troops.


i am seriously thinking of running a campaign and asking for donations from common indian to help us equip our SF.

I am helpless but we indians can do it.If we get a approval from the govt and the donations help with tax rebates we can fund them in an year to world class standards.

Sir few days back I also had the same thought if some kind of donation campaign can be run from DFI, I am sure many here will donate generously for the cause.
It really sinks my heart by how our sf's being let down by low standard equipments in comparison to the third world nation.

India have 1700-1900 T-72 tanks and they will not work for a eternity bro.
We should replace these junks with at least 500 Arjun mk1a and tanks remain as tip of sphere in war like situations.

I understand but it will take just 1 year to get the equipment which will be useful for 10 years.

Tanks are machines..and machines run on spare parts.anyway how big do you want that tip of spear to be?

Tanks do come in Use after years but they stay in service for years too just see how much we utilized T-72 tanks they are still serving on indo-china border.
