^^ Well, I too hope so, but I don't whether any company from India will have even a design for such a vehicle as such, since our forces have never given it a though before.

Paras are simple replacing Maruti Jeeps, their Idea is now to have a dedicated not a improvised..

I think the mahindra ST JV have this pretty much covered with the ST Spider.

Weight Curb weight: 1,600 kg (3,527.4 lb)[1]
Length Overall: 4,500 mm (14 ft 9.2 in)[1]
Width Overall: 2,030 mm (6 ft 7.9 in)[1]
Height Top of roll cage: 1,900 mm (6 ft 2.8 in)

This bad boy will have to be modified a bit in order to lose around 300mm in the height department
However it packs quite a punch in the firepower department as can be seen here

also it's already serving with the Singapore army who train with us on a regular basis and they seem to love it

HOWEVER THE THING I LIKE MOST ABOUT IT IS IT CAN PROVIDE OUR BOYS WITH CREDIBLE FIREPOWER ON A LIGHT PLATFORM AS IT IS ABLE TO MOUNT THE 120MM SRAMS MORTAR SYSTEM.

Air assault

Dedicated LSVs will be lighter more compact and carry weapons unlike Maruti jeep offers non except mobility..
Also if they get some dedicated SF equipment to paras would be nice..

what we need is small, fast, ATV type of vehicle, which does not take too much space, it can take 3-4 men team, can be easily put into helicopter or plane or can be lifted by helicopter.

BTW few Indian companies sponsor college student ATV type of vehicle contest. Gallery - Baja SAEINDIA 2011 :: Baja SAEINDIA 2011

so this type of vehicle can be made in India but it will take some time, two years or so.

good design, even stretcher can be front, if need be to evacuate wounded on stretcher. LMG/MMG can move in any direction unlike Iranian design.

Iranians could make better its a Osolite degin, Look at ground clearence, also the unessary length..
They better buy some western offloads.

just buying equipment is not the solution we army should take care of the training also. in the war time these para troopers will be pitched against professional army and not a rag tag militia. additional equipment needs additional man power so i think until unless army increase the man power of forces getting these things its useless. moreover cant indian automobile industry manufacture these kinda stuff, they are less complicated and im sure if they get those college guys then they will be making it with even less investment. there are hundreds of colleges which make BAJA vehicles ie ATV. with more funding and professional guidance they will be able to produce them under suitable banners... eh.. till then foreign maal hi sahi hai
