Indian nuclear submarines

I wonder why they didnt raise this concern when Our neighbour China introduced the Nuclear sub into the region knowing it could trigger an arms race........they have no problems when China introduce something but are very concerned when India do the same. Ignorance at its best.

Good point Xebex, Pakistan makes noise for their domestic audience. It has no real value. India and Pakistan are not going to the same place, we don't want to, we both agree. Then why the noise?

the present ATV-I can be used for both the roles, therefore it will be better to use this as SSN and if need be those K-XV and X can be fired

this will save cost too.........

it was design as per our need, if we wanted SSBN full time then you wont have seen only 4 tubes....... to start with.....

why you want to follow others, when you can have your own plan.....

their is not such thing as second strike, it is called counter strike....

SSN is to hunt SSBN of enemy as they have same endurance........ why some one will use SSN to hunt convential sub...... apply your mind pls.....

The risk is very high. You don't want to hunt submarines with hot nukes do you. All SSBNs actually practice running away from combat. You cannot afford to lose your nukes that easily, which can be retrieved by the enemy on a later date or be lost in the sea. Too risky.

The best way to hunt a SSK is using a ASW corvette...good old style sonar tracking, locking on and a few depth charges....once detected...the sub is a sitting duck people...It cant match the speeds of a corvette.

Because that and all is our limitation, for god sakes it is as of now the largest sub made in India and in use by Indian Navy.
Did you read what a I wrote, SSN against Diesel Subs in Littoral waters,is being stupid when we have diesel subs ourselves. Its not about my plans or anything, Bombers cant dog fight, it is on the same lines. Read a Doctrine.

yeah u r correct.
always the Russians SSBN's does the same, always hides under Thick arctic ice and relax, but US SSN are always on duty to trace these Bommers.

Unlike Scorpene's which is based on the French SSN, a-90B and U212 are not; they cant do that.

No they can launch Nuke Cruise missile from the Torpedo's tubes,even that is not available to them, they are waiting for 212's for that capability.
