We have the Russian tech and that is enough for India. It is safe and going well. No need of the tech from USA. It comes with so many clause and restrictions and in the time of a war it will be very difficult to get the spares from the US as US still supports pakistan......

Note that steam CATOBAR is simpler but is easier to operate if the powerplant is a nuclear reactor. For conventionally powered ACs, a steam catapult is a luxury, and an electromagnetic catapult is technologically challenging.
CATOBAR requires huge ACs and even French Navy is having issues with it iirc.

What is it they are trying to do? Are they trying to implement a steam catapult or something else?
