Can someone please enlighten me as to what will be need / purpose of a shore based test facility? What does it do?

kunal sir this pic is from Sanik samachar Feb 16-march 05 issue but i cant find it on their website. Looks like K15 launcher, new one. Just a guess.

That looks like a gas turbine engine to me. For the IAC? And in the background, are those the radars for the IAC? Or are those ground station radars?

this is GE LM2500 engine to power the Shivalik class or the Kolkata class.

The same engines are used for the IAC also, 4 of them. And looking at the radars in the background, I am hoping this is part of the infrastructure for the IAC.

In fact I dont think this is the LM2500 as it looks too big. From other pictures on the net, the LM2500 is much smaller

These are Zorya M36E gas turbine engines of Delhi class..

aah, yes. Kolkata class too. The LM2500 is only about half that size.
