URAL

HINO

etc not participating?

It is a global tender!
Sir, my guess would be the six firms are
1)TATA
2)ASHOK LEYLAND
3)TATRA BEML
4)MAHINDRA-MAN
5)EICHER
6)VECTRA-KAMAZ

We might also have entries by AMW and BHARATBENZ!
Which all companies are participating?
according to the link only Indian based six Companies!!!!!

The army has carried out trials of six-wheeled trucks and Tatra is among the six companies including Tata and Ashok Leyland taking part in it. The tender issued in 2009 for buying around 1240 trucks was open only for Indian manufacturers.

nobody answering my Q? ki hoya to all expert
your question is already answered by Bengalriderji...

The Last one is the 8X8 super stallion by leyland, also the second last one is a 8X6 not a 8X8.
The TATA development extensively makes use of Daewoo tech along with Cummins engines and domestic developments done at Jamshedpur as well.

A few further details on the other contenders i believe that might enter the fray through JV's in India.

The NAVISTAR ATX-8 might come in through the JV with Mahindra. The only kink is that the ATX is developed by a JV between NAVISTAR AND the original TATRA(not RK Rishi's franchise)

We might see BAJAJ bring in the MAN CAT SX A18X8 or something similar.

EICHER has a 8x6 that could be further developed into a 8X8.

Mercedes could try to bring in the ACTROS 8X8 through BHARATBENZ

With General Singh exasperated at BEML, he pushed for an alternative. Army records show the MoD cleared the procurement in mid-2010; by end-2010, a tender was floated for an Indian replacement for the Tatra. Four companies — Tata Motors; Ashok Leyland; Ural (India) Ltd; and BEML — fielded their high-mobility vehicles in trials, conducted through 2011. A winner is likely to be declared this year, say army sources.
