Don't the dust covers change with the mod......and yes the mags are interchangeable...yes....but are there any pics of arsenal mags being used on other ak copies....just curious....

that dost cover didnt look like a fab defence one to me, but you are right, its probably an aftermarket piece.

FAB DEFENSE has designed the dust covers and other accessories in such a way that they can used on most of the AK clones. In India I have seen those dust covers on East German, Romanian and Bulgarian.

Plenty pictures available of mags working on other AKs without any issues.

FAB DEFENSE has designed the dust covers and other accessories in such a way that they can used on most of the AK clones. In India I have seen those dust covers on East German, Romanian and Bulgarian.

Plenty pictures available of mags working on other AKs without any issues.

In first pic, is this an example of SMPP armour of which 150,000 were ordered? When seen in DefExpo with the really shoddy looking cover - it didn't look very good. I thought the MKU kit was way better. But this looks quite good and has a small pouch attachment ladder system as well - something missing from SMPPs exhibit.

No the first one is not from SMPP (1.86 lakh BPJs were ordered). This is from a deal made in 2018-19 in which 50,000 BPJs were ordered from an unknown firm to counter Chinese steel core bullets. Former COAS Gen. Bipin Rawat did mention that in his annual press conference.

Well, seems they are going for a downgrade then. Since the SMPP one doesn't look nearly as good as this. It seems it was a typical 'L1' decision. No PALS, bad fabric, horrible ergonomics and perceived quality on the SMPP specimen at defexpo.
