J&K POLICE SOG
Costly mistake.....Terrorists shot dead three policemen after abducting them from Shopian district of Jammu and Kashmir early Friday.
The bodies were recovered from an orchard in Wangam area, more than a kilometre from the village the policemen were abducted from. Police identified the dead as constable Nissar Ahmed and two special police officers - Firdous Ahmed and Kulwant Singh - from Kapren and Heepora areas of Shopian district. Police said the residents of Batagund village had chased the terrorists and urged them not to abduct the policemen, but the militants fired a few shots in the air and and threatened the villagers. They said the terrorists crossed a river in the area and shot dead the policemen.
Nissar Ahmed was working with the armed police, Firdous Ahmed, who was under process of being converted to constable, served in the Railways. Kulwant Singh was posted with Kulgam police. The terrorists had also kidnapped the brother of a police constable but he was released later. A Twitter handle purportedly belonging to the Hizbul Mujahideen group has claimed responsibility for the abduction and killing.
The policemen were abducted nearly three weeks after terrorists had abducted relatives of policemen from various places in south Kashmir on August 30. The relatives were later released. At least eight people whose relatives worked in Jammu and Kashmir Police were abducted. Hizbul Mujahideen commander Riyaz Naikoo had purportedly claimed responsibility for the abductions in a 12-minute video, issuing a three-day deadline for the release of all relatives of terrorists who were in police custody.
The August 30 abductions happened after the NIA arrested the second son of globally-wanted terrorist Syed Salahuddin, leader of the Hizbul Mujahideen group. Salahuddin's son was arrested on charges of receiving secret funds.

Those killed have been identified as constable Nissar Ahmed and two special police officers – Firdous Ahmed and Kulwant Singh – from Kapren and Heepora areas of Shopian district.
Jammu and Kashmir Mehbooba Mufti took to Twitter to condemn the killings. “Three more policemen have lost their lives to militant bullets. Outrage, shock and condemnation will be expressed by all of us on expected lines. Unfortunately, it brings no solace to the families of the victims,” Mufti said in a tweet.
In another tweet, she attacked the Centre and said, “Clearly, with the rise in kidnapping of police personnel and their families, Centre’s muscular policy is not working at all. Dialogue, the only way forward seems to be a distant dream for now.”
On the other hand, IGP Kashmir, SP Pani, said that the accused will be brought to justice. “It is a cowardice act. We assure that action will be taken. The investigation is on, we shall bring the accused to justice,” he said.
This is not the first time that such an incident has been reported from the state. Nearly three weeks before, the terrorists had abducted and released relatives of policemen from various places in south Kashmir while, earlier in July, the police had recovered the body of a constable Javaid Ahmad. He was abducted by militants from his home in the Shopian district of Jammu and Kashmir.
In June, an Army jawan Aurangzeb was abducted and killed by terrorists in Pulwama while he was on his way back home to celebrate Eid with his family. His bullet-riddled body was found in the outside of the district hours after a massive search operation was launched.
security forces are doing their jobs fine, missing piece is public resentment on the streets against jihadis from within kashmiris.Costly mistake.....
This shows that terrorists support base loosing hope, terrorists wants to look tough.
Govt has to tighten the noose, time has come to escalate for next level. No I didn't mean to hurt civilians (even terrorist sympathizers). I understand that IA and CRPF is doing their best, but it's time for JKP(not only passionate, but we need to inspire ordinary folks too) to push things.
Every attack on JKP (though unfortunate events), are signs that things are getting better. Once JKP starts counter attack, oh boy, that when things get really bloody and quickly move forward to freeing Kashmir Valley from scum.
Saying so because of the number of potential targets group for jihadis.security forces are doing their jobs fine, missing piece is public resentment on the streets against jihadis from within kashmiris.
Public resentment obviously exists, otherwise jihadis won't be halaled with such frequency.
