If we hadn't returned the bodies, it would have sent a nice message. It would have demoralized the Paki army for a long time to come, having seen that if they die in Kaffir territory, their soul will forever be trapped in Kaffir land since their dead body will not be claimed by your leaders.

The confidence which they have in our gentleman-like behavior is what encourages them to keep launching wars against us. They see it as a game. Even the dead bodies are returned with respect after the game is over. What's to loose?
