It seems like there is no plan to strike soon. Otherwise they wouldn't have revealed it. They are probably using this as an exercise to discuss the China standoff.

They might do something only after presidential elections.

I would rather we do what israelis excel in - hunting. To the very edges of the world. And put the fear of god in the hearts of terrorists scums.
How this is done is obviously not for public discussion. There are experts out there, and they know how to do it.
Just unleash them. Set them a target. Set them lose. And protect them from human rights bitches.

The only reason why an American or an Israeli lives in relative peace is the high price those countries have attached to each and every terrorist attempt anywhere on the planet, against their citizens. Terrorists have to be willing to pay that very high price to strike terror. Usually the price is their life itself, since they will eventually be hunted down. Eventually but surely.
Now look at our country. We are a people of theories and formulas. Like the stuff you wrote. Not action.
The barrier for a tango in our country is very low. They can do what they want at will. And go back and plan the next strike without fear. This should change. We need to learn to hunt. Like the Israelis. Not just hug them.

If killing Shiva devotees at the very altar of the Lord is not going to wake us up to action, we don't deserve peace.

All indications based on the available information from @hammer head and other sources is that our Special Forces are being unleashed and allowed to hit Pakistani regulars and jihadis in their territory. We have also been pummeling their bunkers with artillery and mortar and also been killing high profile terrorist leaders in the valley.

I've been reading the past few posts and can understand and share the frustration.

However, what specifically would you like the Indian Govt to do with a pragmatic eye on our capabilities, economy and political realties? We jingos would like war with Pakistan yesterday, however it is not likely to happen from this government for a variety of reasons.

They can't show us the real operations due to security reasons, what else do you want them to show? Do you want them to show live counter-terror ops like NDTV did in 26/11? These meetings and the announcements are a part of statecraft. It is done to reassure the public that something is being done. Something really is being done but that cannot be shown on TV. They assemble for a photograph, the let the media people in the room to click photos and share them with the people. The real operational planning happens elsewhere anyway.

If we have the ability to stir up trouble in Balochistan and Peshawar we certainly have the means to take out a Hafiz Saaed. Why haven't we done it already?

I think the reason is twofold. First one is plausible deniability or lack thereof. All fingers point towards India and Pakistan will certainly retaliate. Second and perhaps more important is because everybody knows who controls the jihadis on the other side of the border. The Pakistan Army is the supreme power in that country and maybe taking out a Hafiz Saaed isn't worth it? Letting them live lets India continue to shame Pakistan in the eyes of the world.

Also, maybe the government is risk averse? It seems like they will win power again in the upcoming elections and they don't feel the need to rock the boat at this stage.
