DPS Situation is very similar to EDI Pampore (2nd incident).

In both jehadis attacked CRPF conwoy, as usual soft skinned vehicles, and then hid themselves in a large built up compound.

Hats off to Para SF - probably 9SF - for responding so soon.

Nine Para Fine Para.

Frankly, I don't think we armchair Generals need to second guess what commanders on the ground make of the situation. They can and should be able to use whatever resources they deem necessary to resolve the problem at hand.

Command and control! The NSG is under the Home Ministry and not the MoD. The NSG would need to be put under Army operational control for CT ops in J&K.
If I remember correct NSG were involved in couple of coin in valley. Also took one causality in a raid on mosque.

Never knew about this incident. Can u share some details ?
This incident took place in early 2000s where 2-3 terrorists were holed up a mosque in the srinagar . When our army attempts to flush them out have failed, they called in for NSG. They flew from Delhi and stormed the mosque armed with assault rifles and night vision goggles. In this very encounter, NSg took one casualty.

More than 12 Left wing terrorist scums killed in Biggest Operations In Chhattisgarh's Sukma

Operation Prahar is one of the biggest operations aimed at flushing out the Maoists hiding in forests of Tondamarka, an area located in the Maoist stronghold of the state's Sukma, where a Maoist attack had claimed the lives of 25 securitymen in April.

The 56-hour long operation had started on Saturday. More than 1,500 security personnel took part in the operation.

"More than a dozen Naxals have died in this operation. All the bodies could not be recovered due to heavy firing, which lasted for approximately 12 hours. It was the first initiative of its kind," Mr Awasthi said.
