Answer is simple, most of the stone pelter are drug addict good for nothing youth. Stone pelting is the only job they can do and its easy money.

Most of the time same drug addicts are lured into doing low level militancy or terror activity. If JK police really want they can control these thugs, remove militancy from Kashmir all together but not much is different there.

Army is overkill for almost 90% homegrown jihadis, police is enough. But incompetency, religion, fear and almost assurance that army will sort our mess makes it army job and they don't need to tackle it.

High time since special squads of police are trained with better pay and training and slowly the responsibility of encounters are handed over to them.

If police start hunting these pigs down it will be most effective and biggest ever deterrence. Will help in curbing the propoganda that they are so larger than life terrorists that they need special forces, which create a very bad environment for India and a fertile ground for jihadi recruitment.

I also have often wanted NSG to serve full time in J&K.

I fully understand the rationale that since RR, IA, SOG and CRPF are already available to local commanders, then what is the point of wasting NSG in that zone.

Nevertheless, I believe NSG should have an active in India's largest COIN and CT operation in order to keep themselves sharp and get some 'Return On Investment' from NSG.

NSG can serve as the QRT for all State and Central police forces in a localized area, say Srinagar. We wont need the CRPF QRT then;

It seems our commanders have only paras at their disposal, . I wonder why we are not using nsg?

Command and control! The NSG is under the Home Ministry and not the MoD. The NSG would need to be put under Army operational control for CT ops in J&K.

I hope this happen at the earliest. Anyone going against Indian aspirations is it's enemy. We had a soft corner for Iran. In case Iran meddle with internal affairs of India, we would also act against that country at the earliest opportunity. In Pakistan Shias are murdered. Why don't Iran act against Pakistan?

I hope this war in middle east escalate. Before that we would need to reduce our dependence on oil.
