Exactly, i mean buying sams and all is great but when the frontline soldier doesn't have the basic amneties like BPJ and Ballistic helmets besides a much needed upgrade of the uniform, we are putting them in serious danger. Hate to say this but Our western neighbours have sorted out this issue way back.

US was very generous to them since 9/11.

Atleast they got ...BPJ long back.
I don't say my soldiers are not brave enough to pull sword from their bag pack and chop the paki head.
But this era is modern era...it means no more crusades..
The more modern ur army is..the more balls u have in ur court yard.
Bring up some modern equipment.
Is Excalibur is still in testing?
Is Army looking for "Vajrayudam"...an Invincible weapon lord Indra has.

Exactly, my point. The bpj still aren't available to all the units and didn't the MOD order the Mukut helmets for the IA? what happened to that? We are focusing our attention to a modified insas while our neighbours are going for more modern options. Sad to see all this.

Yes they were, but you gotta give them the points, where they were right. They aptly modernised their frontline soldiers, while we remained stuck in Red tape and procurment bullshit since UPA came after 2004.

Based on specific intelligence about presence of NSCN (K) cadres trying to terrorize and attempting extortion in Paharpur & Balijan village, PS- Lekhapani. The Assam Rifles Changlang & Jairampur battalions swiftly launched an operation, surrounding the hideout in the early hours. Using cover of darkness and foliage the UGs were able to escape, in subsequent search during the day the column found the hideout consisting of temporary hutments. The UGs had been using this hideout as adhoc base for operations for terrorizing and carrying out extortion in the neighboring villages. The destruction of hideout has resulted in the UGs going on the run. (Assam Rifles)

Instead of burning it, it should have been booby trapped with motion sensor and a bomb. Most of the times, these act as resupply points too.

Once the bomb goes off, announce it through local news that these kind of ad-hoc locations have been booby trapped by the Army. Civilians are advised to stay away.

Militants will have tough time stock piling supples at these ad hoc bases and literally no where to hide and will be even more cautious to go these points. Morale will be all time low, i.e., if you don't get food, supplies, CRPF/Army hunting etc...
