On a side note, are we doing some research on graphene bullet proof vests which are seemingly impenetrable. hope our jawans get vests which can withstand any amount of AK47 fire of jehadis. Life of every Indian army/paramilitary jawan is precious as gold and diamond for us.

There us presently no way to mass produce graphene, but it is very strong may be in the next 20 year we will make such vest

Look at the recent photos where the RR troops have the black plate carriers. They are the new ones.

The thing you are calling Bullet proof, Their is nothing bullet proof but bullet resistance, Get it corrected.


Issued items have serious problems when get damage and everything has to be documented and long paper work with it, People order their own as per their own size to unit tailor, And that is why their are so many variations of plate carriers.

Now you don`t want to import a piece of cloth which is mostly made of nylon and stitched, Its something available right at your nearest shop or home.. ?!


And last but not the least, Army ordered new plates with truma padding which is obviously reported by blind and deaf media as 'bullet proof jackets' as its so convenient.

Although I am not aware of the structural design of TATA provided BPJs, but I believe if we could design Dragon skin sort of armour with Boron Carbide, it would increase the longevity of the armour along with high degree of resilience in long term.

Don't think dragon skin itself was accepted by US army.

Jawan injured on LoC as Pakistan violates ceasefire in Poonch

Jammu, Dec 29 (UNI) An Army jawan today got injured after Pakistan targetted the forward Indian posts on the Line of Control(LoC) in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir.
"Pakistan troops this morning shelled around 5 to 6 Indian posts in Gulpur Sector of Poonch," official sources here said.
They said that own troops retaliated effectively, adding that exchange of fire lasted till 1400 hours
