Open roof vehicle are best for disperse and fire, They are supported by Armoured vehicles such as MPVs and visa versa ..

===================

Terrorists attack are on unsuspecting, Unguarded vehicles, Like the one @Bornubus have posted ..

@Kunal Biswas @Bornubus Regarding the vehicles that are targeted by terrorists, how many exits do they have?

It might be worthwhile for non armored transport to have multiple exits in different directions allowing the troops to disembark safely and return fire Or is the truth different?

RR should have Humvee type vehicle along with big MPV . Gypsy are too cramped and unprotected from small arms.

Interestingly Gypsy carry more troops than Humvee

Like once Ray Sir have said :

================

" The dimensions have to fit into the operational terrain and in some areas, it is very restricted."

" One always have to remember that when the Engineers cut roads (actually operational tracks) in virgin mountains under combat, the wider the vehicle, the wider will be the requirement of the cut and so more time is consumed to make the track operational.

This factor plays a role in the attack plan. "

I always loved Jonga over Maruti, Hope Safari open top version will do the work ..

Does these vehicles fit in urban area where terrorist can attack from top why not arm them with HMG type. Can Mahindra marksman fit for the job ??

HMG is not a standard in Army, LMG or MMG are used instead, Army operate Rakshak instead of Marksman due to spare which is common with Army`s Mahindra jeep already in service ..

Bornubus the tata sumo seems to be some kind of Jammer vehicle? Similar vehicles are also seen in a VIP convoy. It seems it failed to jam remote detonation of IED?
Don't know what kind of IED was it. Sometime Jihadis even plant fake IED to create Panic.

Fake IED recovered from Baramulla containing Urea and Nails.

One more fake

On a side note, are we doing some research on graphene bullet proof vests which are seemingly impenetrable. hope our jawans get vests which can withstand any amount of AK47 fire of jehadis. Life of every Indian army/paramilitary jawan is precious as gold and diamond for us.

The guy who created Graphene got the Nobel Prize right? I remember. But is Graphene mass producible? And is it not way too thin? Even after they solve that issue, they've got to think about the economics of equipping everyone with these jackets. Israeli firm Ap Nano last decade came up with a Titanium disulphide nanotube-based body armour which they said was 5 times stronger than steel and lighter as well. Not sure what happened to that. Anyhow, lets hope for the best. BTW, any source for this news?
