I am not sure if this has not been talked about. But it strikes it on the collar bone hard ... Suzuki has made all that money from India. Sure they can raise low interest loan in Japan but the strength of the Indian business is the force. Suzuki and other Japanese companies have made billions and profits from India and kept it on its balance sheet. This money has allowed (one might say saved) suzuki from having a and preventing a german company from owning a substantial stake in its company that stuck in their throats. Will not go into the merits on how that was done and why (one might also say volkswagen intent was india access and numbers of sales). But it is a fact that India is the primary reason that Suzuki is able to one can say stay with a healthy status with (japanese family) promoter control. Suzuki has and will make billions from India. Will India boast about it ... nope. But it must not escape the factual environment in Japanese minds.

That same goes for many japanese companies. The above articles mentions investments by Japanese but they are making a big and massive returns and many times that money is taken and being used by them for good purposes some might say selfish but thats fine as long as they understand we know.

Now what i would like personally is that even though i do appreciate that kind and honest support japanese give and this can be demonstrated by the warm honest advise given by suzuki it is like he treats the indian industry like a family member now (perhaps he knows the real reason why he able to buy out that german stake). I would personally appreciate that japanese industry see how indian industry and strategic affairs behave and would like it if they discontinue and stop providing easy and economic access to Pakistan where the car industry is afloat because it provides easy access to it and sometimes latest technology. There is no need to go around and have pakistan be supplied japanese technology and goods from Non-India nations (e.g. Thailand, etc). If Pakistan wants Japanese they can (only) have it from India. If they dont want it they can suffer. This can apply to all nearby regions and markets. Why Japanese companies are not supplying from India needs to be discussed and managed in a logical manner. And Japanese needs to be reasonable and sensible line instead of wasting money in logistics and performance and reputation and supplying Pakistan (and other nearby nations) away from India. It would be hilarious if Japanese company supply Europe and Americas from India but not Pakistan (lets please not be kidding and be funny anymore)

Reiterating the need to focus on quality he said, "I believe if all suppliers follow Quality in India, then they will be able to overcome the US and China and they can acquire the number one position in global market."

http://economictimes.indiatimes.com...s-court-settles-feud/articleshow/48734945.cms

"It used to feel as if a small bone were stuck in my throat," Suzuki Chairman and Chief Executive Osamu Suzuki told a news conference. "I feel so refreshed now."

Japan's Suzuki Motor Corp said on Sunday it will buy back the 19.9 per cent stake it sold to Volkswagen AG after an international arbitration court settled a dispute between the automakers over their failed partnership.

Suzuki filed for international arbitration in November 2011, after Volkswagen refused to sell back the shares in Suzuki it acquired in January 2010 for 1.7 billion euros ($1.90 billion).

The stake was worth some $3.8 billion at Friday's closing price.

** This is no way a offense and attack on Suzuki but a realignment and focus on doing business in India with the feelings and considerations in mind for the win-win and benefit of all.

*** Suzuki performance numbers in India and performance is admirable.

Royal Enfield to Set Up Third Plant in India; Double Production Capacity
By CarAndBike Team | Nov 07, 2015

Royal Enfield announced it will install its third manufacturing facility and increase its production capacity in India. The aforementioned plant that will be set up by 2018 in Vallam Vadagal on the outskirts of Chennai will allow the bikemaker to double its total production capacity to 900,000 units per annum as compared to the current output of 450,000 units.

The Eicher Motors-owned Royal Enfield currently has two facilities in Tamil Nadu, India.

Siddhartha Lal, CEO and Managing Director, Eicher Motors, further added that the first phase of the new plant will aid the proposed increase in production and the work for which will begin in 2016.

Other than the new plant, Royal Enfield is also looking to launch new products; well, 2 to be precise. Mr Lal said the bikemaker will bring in 2 new models, out of which one will be launched in early 2016, while the other has an expected launch date of 2017.

Furthermore, Royal Enfield also plans to strengthen its dealership network across India and establish 500 dealerships by the end of the year.

Internationally, Royal Enfield has been working equally hard. Last month, the company announced its first exclusive stores in Madrid and Paris. In fact, the bikemaker is expanding its presence in the European markets with over 80 dealerships across France and 25 in Spain. In September, it had announced its entry in the Indonesian market at Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) 2015. The company will soon commence retail operations in Indonesia via its exclusive dealership in Jakarta.
