Seen it already dude, i even commented above about the ak performing better in arctic conditions.
You might also consider the video you posted has been made by Kalashnikov Concern.
I see you are emotionally attached to an ak, i am not saying the ak is a bad rifle, i am just saying that ar15s are better.
:hail:
Emotionally attached!?

Can you please go through all my previous messages regarding DI and GP? Please

Btw, is a video by Kalashnikov Concern one of those hundreds. Because if it is, then things are bit problematic.
That test was rigged, like usual Mother Russia Vs Imperialist Pig comparisons.

exactly. But the ar15 magazine release freezing is a real issue.
Just because of small clearance between parts.
Can be solved by an ambidextrous mag release as the mag release on left usually employs some sort of lever to actuate it, so you get a bit of mechanical advantage.

Takeaways from Paki Trials of their AR Replacement program by an US representative; (Not sure whether it is posted before )

" The AR10-type weapon is inherently accurate especially when compared to other service rifles, but the design leaves it very susceptible to dirt and debris. Adding a piston system to the AR15/10/M4/M16 does not improve the reliability of the system in harsh environments due to design limitations. Considering these trials, it is interesting to ponder weapon testing requirements of the United States and the small arms currently being used and purchased by the Services. The selection approach of the United States may need to be rethought. If you operate in harsh conditions where maintenance and cleaning may not be available, and you absolutely must have a rifle that fires every time you pull the trigger, then the Russian Kalashnikov AK is the answer. Otherwise, keep your weapon clean and don’t let it get dirty. "

As per this article, Paki selected FN SCAR but eventually ran out of money.

Well not really.
I don't think anyone needs to "abandon" an AR to get a gas piston operated rifle.
There are many aftermarket kits which can make any Mil Spec AR a SS-GP by simply replacing the gas block, gas tube and bolt carrier (in some cases only the gas key is needed to be swapped).
Though not a fool proof solution as there will be slight glitches. But they can also be rectified by swapping the upper receiver and handguard.
The US Armed forces have millions of M4 variants and even M14 from Vietnam era. The thing with HK 416 type is that the change to GP ARs is easier as the lower AR receiver fits with the upper Hk one.Ofcourse there are more aftermarket kits and parts availability for DI ARs and that ecosystem is difficult to come out of esp with lobbying of the Arms Manufacturers.

Prob with Gas block adaptor is that it on paper is a good solution but one that in combat and a military enviornment hasn't been testing long enough to be adapted into all the millions of ARs in service. Something like the gas key being put on an AK 47 which will reduce recoil but would make it undergassed enough in particular setting to not cause ejection of round. But if finetuned it may prove to be an excellent solution along with heatsink to reduce heat in the BCG part of AR platforms.

DI guns are great but in a combat situation the wiser oneswill eventually move to Piston ARs, unless DI technology catches up in reliability to piston ARs.

Hmm, quite possible.

An AK assembles with kits and a completely assembled AK from original manufcturers will be diff, the former is more like for US market gun enthusiasts while the latter is for militaries needing hardcore battlefield use.

that ak in the video is made on a russian parts kit, so its as close to a russian ak as it gets. If you still have doubts they have tested factory made valmets and arsenal rifles as well.

edit- it was a romanian ak not russian
THE SSGs said they would pick up an AK 103 in marshy areas for operations than any other weapon after evaluating all rifles. AN original russian AK is better rifle than AR is Marshy areas. These other AKs are kit assembled and don't bring the same quality control.

I am yet to see an AR DI being used in Creek areas or Siachen.

well the hk416 is a phenomenal rifle, but you see them less and less in the hands of special operators nowadays.
The SOF community uses a family of weapons that are mission specific. They may not always roll locked and loaded with HKs, when an MK18 can do a good job. But the fact that we see more HK 416s in frontline Infantry like French Army and shock troop like USMC says a lot about its prowess.

Since the OBL raid HK use has come a long way.

Just go below and check how many now use Hks since SEALS took out OBL.

Any gun if mistreated for long will have problems, just that when it comes to a serious situation, most would go with AK. THE RR uses Ak variants not M4s for a reason. SF use M4s for accuracy and ease of use, ergonomics, etc but one one M4 seen in Siachen till date.

So why did these top of the line factory made ones fail?

You put that much concrete and mud in any gun, high chances it will fail to fire. But then in an AK u can easily remove that mud with some shaking and then carry on where as in an AR that thing will cause serious problems due to less space.

An AK anyday will be my go to gun than a DI AR.

The only way you could get that ak back to function is complete disassembly and cleaning, the same with an AR15, but the good thing about an ar is it wont allow the gunk in, in the first place.

Bullshit argument. Don't misconstrue facts.

Extreme Climate Test. Hot. 360 rounds loaded into magazines and three test weapons were conditioned at +60°C (140°F) for 12 hours. All the test weapons performed without issue except for the US weapons, all of which had the bolt catch fall out of the weapon during testing and one of which launched the muzzle break down range.

Cold. 720 rounds loaded into magazines and three test weapons were conditioned at -40°C (-40°F). Two cycles of 120x rounds fired from each weapon. All the test weapons performed without issue except for the US weapons which would not chamber a round and did not fire a single shot.
This is data from actual weapon trials, participant US weapons were either Anderson Arms or Sig Sauer.

Again total bunkum. AR 15 bolt protects against gunk but cleaning would require removing takedown pins to divide the receivers.

For an AK, all it would require is to remove dust cover, clean as well as you can, put back dust cover, hand cycle/mortar gun and continue
