Thanks. With the current border dynamics, we need two more divisions, one each in the Central and Eastern sectors to strengthen our defensive and offensive powers.
China is rapidly developing infrastructure in Tibet and they will swarm us like flies in the coming years.
StratNewsGlobal and the print reported that a division specialised in CI ops has been moved to Eastern Ladakh From the valley. Any guess about what formation they could be talking about ? That div will now permanently look after the area south of Pangong Tso

I suggest we move 57 mountain division from leimakhong in manipur to Dibang Valley. Let the 2nd Mountain div manage the defences in Walong-Kibitho-lohit sector. 2nd MD is overstretched I feel

Initially victor force had moved, they were then replaced by uniform force. Don't know if uniform force has been replaced or not. I am not sure if they will permanently be there or not.

Uniform Force.

I think it is being stationed at Chusul.

Dibang Valley doesn't have the required infrastructure to house a division strength of troop yet. Maybe in next 5 years. Also during the conflict, it can be moved from Manipur to the Arunachal sector real quick.

57 MD is actually spread out in three states. It's arty brigade is in Agartala. Many of its infantry formations are in Nagaland . In case of war it will take time to mobilise all of them at a uniform pace.

This is actually the norm. A single division is never completely based out of a single city or town.

Using a CICT formation against a conventional enemy is not a good decision in my opinion. Is the force being converted to Mountain warfare role ?
Why do you think so ? RR troops are specifically brought because of their very high battle readiness, equipment and most importantly, they are constantly fighting, hence battle-hardened.

After Galwan clash in June-2020, a RR formation was also moved to Galwan specifically for this reason, we expected the guns to roar.

An RR battalion fights entirely different battles than what regular battalions do . They are a CICT force and don't have the same indoctrination as the regular battalions do . They have a High state of readiness but what they'll have to do in ladakh is totally opposite to what they have doing in Kashmir valley. Being in a CICT environment is different from being deployed in a Conventional battle setting. They'll have to fight the enemy face to face in a large open area . They mostly fight in urban environment.

Mission First Brigade in the 29th Infantry Division, any idea? It is stationed in Samba or Kathua. The only ones I can think of is 168th or 162nf Infantry brigade.

Usually what sort of Structure is required to house a fighting force on forward base.
Sleeping area, kitchen, Ammunition hold, training area, common room?
I don't think it will take any more than a year to build up an entire camp if the need arises, Chinese do it all the time.

Closest base in Dibang Valley is in Anini

No, big misconception. This argument has been thrown around a lot by western-narrators and uninformed because they don't understand the operational dynamics and challenges RR face, and falsely equate them with a CT or Police-task force like SWAT, GIGN, or NSGs.

fights entirely different battles - Do you know RR handles everything, from cross-border infiltration and raids, neutralizing tangos crossing the border under heavy CFVs? They are not trained for room-to-room intervention like NSGs or SWAT. Yes, they do urban warfare but they don't engage in flashbang-room-clearance ops, instead, they blow up the entire house with IEDs.

The basic squad formation of RR is the same as that of regular infantry. They use heavy weapons like Carl-Gustav, mortars, artillery, and are constantly under heavy-weapon fire as well. They employ drones for surveillance, work in synergy with gunships and artillery fire if required.

Then you are clearly unaware of the operational conditions of RR. RR is not a room-intervention force. Their purely-urban operations are limited, and RR does not operate deep into Srinagar's alleys. It is the job of CRPF/JKP.

People fail to realize the intensity of CFVs between India and Pakistan, and in fact calling them CFVs is an understatement. Firing starts with 81mm Mortars and escalates to 130mm gun strikes deep into the territory. HMG/70mm cannon fire is the norm, not LMG or MMG.

So your poor RR squad, caught between artillery fire and roaring HMGs is waiting at 50º mountain slope at -10 degrees of night, waist-deep in snow for the infiltrating tangoes to appear on their cross-hair, and the situation being monitored using drones and thermal cameras.

What else battle experience do you need for China ?

I guess I took the words of sawhney too seriously, he said that CI ops have ruined the army and that the army isn't ready to fight a conventional war because they are not ready for the kind of war in a real battlefield.

We can surely build the required housing/infrastructure for housing and training troops within 2-3 years, however the area (Dibang Valley) won't be able to sustain the number of troops regarding supplies and rations locally, so it will have to be brought from the outside like Ladakh.
To house such a huge camp, you need a sustainable electricity and water source, which means further development of infrastructure is required, and to achieve that, you need better road infrastructure and connectivity, which we are going to complete in the next 5 years.

China can do it because they already have good double-lane highway connectivity. However, a self-sustained cantonment will source its supplies (ration, labor, water, electricity) locally. Otherwise, it incurs heavy costs, like in Ladakh.

 Swahney.

He also says Pakistan is conventionally stronger than India now.
