Pinaka mk-2 tested?? last test in jan and feb. at Chandipur was for 40 km Pinaka and not 60 km extended range, right?
As, of 2012 only static validation of 60 km rocket was over.

Pinaka 1 & 2 are targeted for replacing grads which are imported and there ammo and spare are also imported..

Prahaar system was design for precision strike with range of 150kms, In my view after every two or three battery of Pinaka there is a Prahaar unit..

There was a lot of talk about the development of Guided rockets with extended range for the Pinaka MLRS some 1 year back on the lines of the USARMY/USMC GMLRS....

GMLRS (guided multiple launch rocket system)....
Lockheed Martin developed a new extended-range guided MLRS (GMLRS), which has a range of more than 70km. The GMLRS XM30 rocket has a GPS (global positioning system) and inertial guidance package and small canards on the rocket nose to enhance accuracy.

There is no news of Prahar after it's first demonstration long back. Seems like this has been selved due the lack of interest from Army or it's utility.

Though this can be a very good weapon system against China, >150kg nuke warhead shall be icing on cake.

The system was made as per Army directions, Prahaar cannot be selved off without notifying media ..

We will have to wait, I presume there are more modifications on the way..

Wonder what they have made with PAD tech for Prithvi missile. All those 80+ tests must have cooked something good for enemy. AAD missile is good example of how they moved to Prahar.

The below mentioned test were to be tested as mentioned in the news report.But none of these have been tested since.With end of May and monsoon approaching the test window will close.The next slot available would be nov-jan period only.
Any news any of these will be tested this season?
Agni 5 test scheduled for May end or early June is the only news we have.

The DRDO is also planning to conduct the second trial of Nirbhay cruise missile within next couple of months. The maiden trial of the missile was a failure last month. Besides, a few more user tests of Agni-III, Agni-I, Prithvi-II, Akash and developmental trials of Prahar, Astra and Helicopter-mounted Nag (HELINA) missiles have been planned in coming months.

As i had mentioned earlier the New Bhim Has not yet been finalized but the indications are that it will be the Korean K9 Thunder on a Arjun Chassis now!

great news, K9 is good choice specially the fact that they have given TOT to Turkish, wont be bad idea to get some K11 assault rifle for testing.

Any news about the summer trials of OFB 155mm Howitzers?

I think it was supposed to take place in june.
Also which of the two prototype got selected for final production the one with more indigenous content or the one with lesser?

If its in june then we may know in July..

On the other front, the OFB prototypes were "satisfactorily tested" in Pokhran on February 4. The Army wants to induct 414 of these field guns, which have a range of 38-km as compared to the 30-km of the original Bofors gun, in the first stage.

"The prototypes, one with 68% indigenous parts and the other with 46%, will undergo validation firing in March-April before the final user trials in June," said the source.

Depend upon preform-ace of both system, one will win..

We may have to wait for few more weeks if not months..

That is highly unlikely, the design of K9 turret prohibits such modifications..

It can be that K9 gun will be on Bhim instead of Daneal`s ?

Couple of Queries :

i) Above 155mm gun pic by Abhi9, is it the Soltam "Up gunned" M-46 130mm or OFB "Metamorphosis? "

ii) No. 423 painted on both guns means "423 Medium Regiment?"
