k9 as track system and K8 as wheel system is good alternative, plus koreans have already give tot to Turkey, so we can also get this, L&T has tie up with them but IA to some strange reason dont want it.
IA's reasons can not be strange. at best you can say for unknown reasons. Strange is that which you know but find unreasonable. No slanders please.

still i find them...........

L&T are bringing that K9 and K8 for long time still IA dont find them worthy guns.......
Even TOT is not problem for them.
It is quite :frusty: IA itself has to take 50% blame.

If war with China happen or two front war then we are screwed big time, i know our soldiers will fight with sticks and stones for sake of country still situation can be better handled.

For the love of Bofors.

As the new COAS is there & the good team working between MOD, UPA & IA with shared values shall drive for the mutual beneficial decision for the new artillery deal.

Pic was take by me in 2008 along with 500 other pics at Defexpo 2008, but Pakistani attack on the old Indian Defence forum Site has resulted in all the pics being wiped off from internet, my computer was also formatted so i too lost what ever i had.

copy of pics were posted in forum.pakistandefence, but they too upgraded and then those pics were lost too.

I think the Indian Army needs to speed up their evaluation process.

For the wheeled SPH requirement, I think India should either choose from the Zuzana SPH.

Or the G6 howitzer.

The Zuzana SPH is basically a variant based on the Dana SPH. The Dana SPH has 7 countries operating it. So one could easily assume it is a successful design and gets the job done fine.

And the G6 howitzer is operated by 3 countries and it saw action. So it too is successful.

Sure these Artillery Systems may not fit the exact requirements the Indian Army wants. But at least it's something for now to temporarily fill the gap!

At least for now until the BHIM howitzer project gets finished sooner or later and hopefully inducted into the Army. Just hurry up and get it over with I say!
Zuzuana Spgh based on tatra, the same one in present in IA, I doubt it will pass, and T6 is dead for now.

KB, please any image of K8.
And the best options are Caesar and/or Archer, i think.
Regards.
Wasn't Archer rejected by IA ?.... Guru's pls. comment. K8 could be an interesting option. Main drawback with Caesar is that the gun crew is exposed during firing. It does well as a truck mounted gun though. B.t.w. can't TATA (Tata Power Strategic Electronics Division) pitch in with it's Truck mounted (Denel) or can't they becoz of the ban on Denel Land systems ?

General Dynamics European Land Systems and Krauss-Maffei Wegmann's DONAR

The DONAR is a new world-class, self-propelled, tracked, airborne-capable, fully automated self-propelled howitzer (155/52 cal.) featuring operation by a two-man crew (driver + commander), all-terrain mobility, long range and precise firing capability. The mission spectrum of the DONAR ranges from classic artillery fire support missions to active field protection and is designed to replace legacy systems (e.g. M-109, AS90, K9, etc.) in service with modern armies. The system addresses the growing need for precise indirect fire capabilities that can augment or even replace close-air-support operations previously conducted by costly fixed- or rotary-wing aircraft.

The Panzerhaubitze 2000 ("Armoured howitzer 2000"), abbreviated PzH 2000, is a German 155 mm self-propelled howitzer developed by Krauss-Maffei Wegmann (KMW) and Rheinmetall for the German Army. The PzH 2000 is one of the most powerful conventional artillery systems currently deployed. It is particularly notable for a very high rate of fire; in burst mode it can fire three rounds in 9 seconds, ten rounds in 56 seconds, and can fire between 10 and 13 rounds per minute continuously, depending on barrel heating.[1] The PzH 2000 has automatic support for Multiple Rounds Simultaneous Impact (MRSI) for up to 5 rounds. The replenishment of shells is automated. Two operators can load 60 shells and propelling charges in less than 12 minutes. PzH 2000 has also been selected by the armies of Italy, Netherlands and Greece, and more orders are probable as many NATO forces replace their M109 howitzers.

Not sure, but IA thinks that Archer doesn't match with their RFP.

The article says.....
BAE's Archer apparently doesn't fit the RFP criteria......

(Please see this article @ Sept 10/10: The Indian defense ministry is expected to issue its 3rd wheeled howitzer RFP)

Ceaser and modified Archer are offered to IA and they are under consideration in category of 155mm mounted System..

K8:

@Sayareakd Sir..

K8 & Zuzuna are under wheel SPGH..

Earlier Archer was rejected coz of its complex auto reloading mechanism which is harder to maintain in Indian environment, But modified one is offered which is same as Ceaser..

Denel is a big organization and its Arty branch is ban with any JV with OFB & DRDO but not with TATA..

Kunal,
Any info/ news on what's wrong with Zuzuana ?
Nothing wrong, But wheeled SPGH tender is re opened and Zuzuana 2 instead of Zuzuana 1 is racing with updated ARZU tracked SPGH instead of Himalaya SPGH based on T-72 chassis, ARZU is based on Arjun Chassis, It just got better..

Though with current state of BEML scandal the future is unknown of these SPGHs..
