Fire Power and Manoeuvre Exercise’ and ‘Equipment display’, held in the KK Ranges near Ahmednagar under the aegis of the Armoured Corps Centre and School (ACC&S) and the Mechanised Infantry Regimental Centre (MIRC) on January 10, 2017.
Here is a old video of KK Ranges...

That was a T-72 chassis, I would love to see an Arjun Mk.2 turret on a T-90 chassis with an uprated engine- that would be the ultimate "light" tank for the Northern sector.
A T-90 hull may not be too different from a T-72 hull, except for uprated engine and better glacis array. After all the T-90 designation is a rebrand of T-72BU to distance the platform from Gulf War performance.

This is a pic of a T-72B with broken idler, showing simple spaced plates.

It's possible that the same kind of setup is used in T-90 and T-90A. The side hull plate thickness can also be noted. Of course the upper glacis has boxes to insert ERA slabs.

Pound for pound pre-armata Russian tanks can't match western heavy tanks with 70+ ton worth of armor. T series tanks have to be used tactfully, utilizing the emphasis of protection in the frontal 60 degree arc, and use speed and terrain.

Germans used a wedge formation called panzerkiel to break Russian pakfront defence in WW2, by using heavy Tigers at the tip and lighter Panzers in the wings. I wonder what would the outcome be like in a real conflict or in a exercise in Rajasthan, where Arjun MKII and T90s are used together.

TANK-EX was rejected based on interfering with intellectual rights which Russian sued DRDO coz the modification were done on existing T-72M1 chassis as part of Operation Rhino ( Up-gradation of T-72M1 in IA ), Russian too were competing for this upgrade along with some east block countries, This ended up buying new T-72M1 chassis and Karna ended up as a new tank and not just a upgrade ..

The turret of Tank-ex was not exactly a Arjun`s turret, It was a modified turret which has similar features of Arjun MK1`s turret ..

============================

A new avatar of TANK-EX with smaller Arjun chassis with Tank-ex turret with all the gadgets of MK2 and with T-90 engine ( Licensed produced at OFB ), Will make some sense ..

They tried that with Tank-EX, then IA rejected it. It even had the 1000hp engine.
