While the MiG-23 is gone from IAF ranks, it has globally had a mixed reputation. The below video was made by a US Navy F14 TOMCAT pilot who flew against MIG-23s flown by cream-of-the-crop US pilots in CONSTANT PEG, the top-secret US cold war program to acquire eastern block aircraft, and train their piloits against it.

This is definitive proof of what a good machine can mean in capable hands. It certifies the age-old maxim of: "its not the machine, its the man in the machine"

If netra awe&c used on A 321 it will be even more powerful with better electrical power but can any one tell me why India not worked on Rotordome 360 degree coverage AWACS instead of gone for 300 degree netra initial iaf wanted to buy more phalcons from Israel but that requirement was dismantled I heard due to funds but they should gone for Russian A 100 new AWACS with phalcons

And what will happen il 78 based phalcons as Indian airforce not happy with IL 78 availability rate can they be transfered to A 321

India should have bought 2 phalcons with reduced budget why iaf needs all at once

Netra is a great induction for such a large iaf but without proper rotordome AWACS they will face few hiccups

Brother, a male's body has no shame .
But a females highest asset is her " jismani izzat " .
If a woman is taken a POW, by Pakistanis then what they will do to her , I do not need to elaborate .

It will haunt people, one just cannot bring himself to see his nations woman violated by the enemy during war .
Just try to understand it , for heavens sake .
Let these ladies operate Air force Air defences and act in ground based operations .
They can act as airwoman too, iam all for it .fixing planes and weapons to the aircraft.

I just wish that our women are not put directly in harms way, when millions of men are there.
Russia or Germany they both had to use female soldiers out of necessity .
And not due to some equality agenda.
If Russia had access to a manpower reserve like ours, women would have stayed back like always .
The other allies used them in ammunition factories and other stuff where they were not facing the enemy directly.
On the other hand, look at it like this,
A video of a woman being tortured will be a very potent casus belli. GoI will not have a choice but to go to war.

There will be no aman ke asha folks. The public opinion will boil.

The MiG-23 was by far the worst purchase by the IAF.

The MiG-23MF was hastily purchased to take on F-16 A/Bs that PAF was going to get. They were inherently unsuited for that role, especially given that the F-16A was a generation ahead of the MiG-23MF in airframe, FCS (which the MiG-23MF lacked), radar and EW. The IAF soon realised how hopeless it was to expect the MiG-23MF to address that role and went into negotiations for Mirage-2000s. The roll rate, ITR, STR, all were nowhere near the F-16A or Mirage-2000.

The MiG-23BN was somewhat better in the role of a ground attack jet, especially given it was bought at "Friendship prices". But the MiG-27 simplified the air intake design, added more armour around the cockpit and basically was chosen to be mass produced by HAL instead of the MiG-23BN.

The one thing the MiG-23 could do very well was employ AB and basically shoot the hell out of a zone. Was very hard to catch up with it and that made it a hard target to intercept for air superiority fighters that needed to employ the AIM-9 or other IR missiles.

Oh, and it had the worst attrition rate of all the MiG series in IAF service. Was glad to see it retire earlier than other birds that were already around when it entered service, such as the Jaguar and MiG-21MF and MiG-21bis.

The most funniest thing is IAF grounded 200+ jets which were newer than mig21 but still using mig21

300° is not some super downgrade. Only way a hostile can escape is when it's already flying deep inside Indian territory.

Imagine the Russians asking the IAF to 'not compromise the radar signatures of the SU30MKI during excercise Veer Guardian in Japan.'

M*******d those RC-135s and RQ-4s orbiting over the black sea for the last 1 year have already 3D mapped the inside of Putin's asshole- let alone the radar, electronic, thermal and acoustic signatures of every single Russian aircraft used in Ukraine.

Absolute clown world.

Armed forces should quit wokeness and remove women from frontline combat roles. Transport pilots and ground services are okay, but pushing them for fighter pilot is a disaster in making.
Don't the women who take up this occupation know this? Let them decide for themselves what they want to do.

Know what? People are idiots. Air force invests millions of dollars in training a single fighter jet pilot in its career lifetime. Prematurely leaving forces or being declared unfit to fly is a massive waste of money and resources.

Know what? People are idiots. Air force invests millions of dollars in training a single fighter jet pilot in its career lifetime. Prematurely leaving forces or being declared unfit to fly is a massive waste of money and resources.
Forces mainly avoid females for combat role because of maternity benifits, they will be out of action for more than a year during that period.
