If the engine in Mig-35 is better than GE-414, and we have TOT and we can use that technology in our indigenous programs, why not. I am not a technical expert. Experts can discuss the engine strength. We make every engine now of previous Migs. So I expect Russia to share engine technology and allow Further R&D and further indigenous parts in F-35 engine. Need to see how far Russia trusts India and how far it can go to arm India and continue friendship which is under question and under strain these days.
Naval MiG-29K/UB are already powered by the RD-33MK engine.

How is it compared to GE 414? If it is comparable, can we design a new indigenous aircraft to use it, if we have complete technology?
It's lower powered (88kN to GE414's 98kN)... about 50kg heavier... & not really famous for its reliability.

MIG-35 fighter aircraft is the only option we have and Russia willing to provide full transfer technology to India. At the best govt will go for another 36 Rafales and that bring total 72 Rafales in indian Air force. Rafales under make in India is not possible due to high cost and expensive fighter aircraft. Russia is only country will full transfer technology to India and no other countries will provide full transfer technology.

How about we modify Tejas 1A to use Mig engine if we have technology. We can continue on path for MK2 with GE414, but simultaneously keep production lines open for Tejas 1A with Mig engine

Russians have not provided full ToT for any system that we have inducted, what makes you believe that they will do so for Mig 35?

We have continuously struggled with the serviceability and availability of IAF Mig-29s and IN Mig-29Ks. Why would it be any different for Mig 35, which is basically a re-branded Mig 29 SMT?

RD 33 (or any Russian engine for that matter) are famous for their bad reliability. We put them into LCA, they'll start falling out of the sky.

MiG 35 is the worst possible choice. Don't even want to think of seeing a paper Russian plane being ordered.

We used Russian machines in the war and we won. By the way Russian building MIG 29K repair and maintaince facility in Goa. We are replacing older engines with newer engines. MIG 29K servicibilty is gradually improving. Who knows suddenly one day if US put sanctions on India we are dead and we are using American engines and that is why kaveri engines is needed and we need put more resources developing more powerful engines.

Russia is India's is best friend and stragtetic partner. US recently sold F-16 Block 52 to Iraq fighter but without long range beyond visual range missile and other important guided bombs.

My point of argument we should not blindly trust US. We should develope our own fighter jet engines and more powerful than Kaveri engines. We should self-reliance in making arms and engines.

Nigga we need to manufacture everything on our own.
We have to build from rocket and microchips to kacche ka nadda in this very country.
No country in this world that is powerful should import it's key technologies

You just need Reliance or Tatas to fund this foundry.

I guess Bangalore is the hub where IBM/Intel actually design the chips and architecture. So we have designers and guess what most of the people working in US for these are Indians.

perhaps govt can mandate a particular percentage of mobiles chipsets/processors to be manufactured in India. This will act as a push
