America’s Foreign Policy Establishment

It consists of hard headed bunch in the US State Department bureaucrats and a bunch waiting to be employed in Washington’s officials circles, currently working as consultants in “Council For Foreign Relations (CFR), Freedom House, Open Society Foundation, US Commission on International Religious Freedom etc.” These are all politically sponsored organizations and at times infiltrated by outsiders like sweet talking Pakistani origin intellectuals whose main task is to prevent any pro India tendencies in the think tanks and many others.

The US foreign policy towards India is determined by the above. The State Department only handles the operations. The actual policy is established through these think tanks. They take into consideration India’s pro Russia/Soviet attitude and all related issues. Previously US had left no room for India to maneuver. It consistently voted anti India, Kashmir policy and also armed Pakistan to the teeth. Pakistani diplomats have had more success here in Washington to keep the anti-India focus. It was in the last 20 years during the Afghan war that Pakistani double dealings were discovered and much of pro Pakistani attitude and military/economic aid disappeared. That was a policy necessity.

India heaved a sigh of relief.

Alas! Who knew that the United States would become involved in the war in Ukraine. India did not side with anybody but that resulted in US unhappiness and anti Indian feelings multiplying in Washington once again. At the moment, US wishes to aid India and build it against Chinese belligerence, but the Washington foreign policy establishment is standing in the way. They produced some reports against the Indians, merely superficial and the words of some politically motivated consultants. For India, they are nevertheless irritating. India thru it’s highly capable Foreign Minister responded in kind, blunting the reports.

Nevertheless, unless US is out of the Ukraine war (Biden loses Re-election bid) then only the anti Indian reporting will pause. Only then US will concentrate on building India. India itself is doing good at 7-8% growth rate, but still need more money and technological help to reach $10 Trillion GDP goal by 2030. That will come when Ukraine war ends and focus on belligerent China grows. India will be front and Center then. I hope that belligerent China starts its Taiwan invasion sooner than later. It will force a policy rethink in Washington circles.

=================================================================

"The visit will strengthen our two countries’ shared commitment to a free, open, prosperous and secure Indo-Pacific and our shared resolve to elevate our strategic technology partnership, including in defense, clean energy, and space," Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said in a statement.

Biden has been eager to strengthen relations with India as part of his bid to win what he has framed as a contest between free and autocratic societies, especially China.

Asked about human rights concerns in India, Jean-Pierre defended the visit, telling reporters that Biden believes "this is an important relationship that we need to continue and build on as it relates to human rights."

India will never be America’s ally

Very interesting take except for a couple of comical points highlighted above with emojis by me.

  1. I find it amusing how the Americans assume that the PLA by merely having fancy toys with no combat experience is going to overwhelm and defeat a more experienced military on the bone-chilling altitudes of the Himalayan battlefield. We will not defeat them but they will take some really, really huge losses, enough to consider stopping any invasions. Fighting in the Himalayas is nothing like what the Americans know.
  2. American and Western liberals in general seem to have internalized the new fancy term "electoral autocracy" big time. Not that it's hurtful or anything but simply a lie. We would like it that way, but it is not.
  3. Americans again misunderstand that this is some battle between evil Hindu nationalists and lovey-dovey secular peaceful others. This narrative has gone in so deep that they don't understand that it's an existential battle between the soul and civilization of the country versus an Abrahamic-inspired neo-colonial ideology.
  4. Never knew that France was feeding them misinformation about multipolarity all along.
  5. That Rana Foroohar speaks more sense than the writer here.
what seems to be happening is that there is brain storming going on in DC,

-Pro-china fellows are trying to limit the damage and hedging/investing against worst outcome i.e full fledged war.
-Anti-Russia fellows are having a field day.
-"National security first" fellows are giving countdowns of 2030-2027-2025

i am yet to get an idea on what "cross atlantic" fellows are pitching for.

in all this, the old "south asia expert" wallahs are trying to insert their narratives to limit U.S-India co-operation in the name of realism using soros funded tropes.
Truth is they are somewhat friendly with us because they slowly realize that China is still too much to take on their own and with their vassals.
Democracy vs Autocracy is just a narrative jhumla, if Mudi survives regime change attempts then they will begrudgingly continue to support India, their Soros Open Societies ideological bullshit can wait.

It's either they be nice to us and contain China, or tick us off and cede most of Asia to a Chinese sphere of influence.

Look as long as you count yourself as nation state making independent decisions or like having independent opinions- then be assured US can ever be your ally. You can have consensus on some issues but for rest of the time they shall be nibbling at your roots.
In the US lexicon, "ally" is used for what we mere mortals call a vassal or client state :troll:
Bharat is not the jagir of Amreecunts.

Our former PM PV Narasimha Rao before departing from office, opined that there will be a war in the future between USA and PRChina. At that time, we (India) have to side with china and should not side with USA.
It looks like US's state department again and again validates that PVN Rao's suggestion is the best strategy forward. Working with USA is politically and culturally suicidal.
Hope our MEA people and politicians remember PVNR's wisdom at the right time.

Mate I feel like using big Yawning Icon. These are same old tricks which these neo colonists have been using for decades. I am glad they are still using the same old tactics. What was unknown and shock to know earlier - thanks to their tool SM - wide general populace is getting aware of same. The more these tricks get known - the more ineffective they become.

Ground being laid out to choke Modi. Let's see how Modi reacts.

He should learn a lesson from the Chinese.

The Chinese guy pointed his hand at the American NSA and said that "US doesn't have the qualification to speak to China from a position of strength"

Why the demoralizing? India has already done more than that to the US by refusing to toe the line in Ukraine. That has caused far more damage to US foreign policy than any finger pointing or snarky news articles.
These journalists are just psyops.

I just hope they don't freeze and go on the defensive if confronted on minority rights in a meeting.

It's not India's PM that needs to be on the defensive. if they play their silly games, it is us who will get to know how serious they are about china.

I've stopped expecting common sense from the Americans particularly Democrats.

Also, they won't attack India but will target Modi/BJP as being the issue. Raga is going to the USA on the 31st of this month. I fully expect a trial by fire for Modi on his US visit.
