As long as you have state actors protecting the terrorists you can never get enough contact time to finish them off. They will always retreat back to their area of protection. By destroying the government of Libya it enabled France to conduct operations against the terrorists unhindered. They try to cross borders in Africa but they cannot hide as we have forces over the entire Sahel. Daesh made the mistake of creating their own state which gave us targets that we could eliminate one by one. We team up with the Kurds and African stablisation forces so we don't have to use tens of thousands of boots on the ground. It is a long fight but when they attack your country you have no choice but to do it. You have to keep the pressure on all of the time and not let them reconstitute themselves.
India is afraid of suffering a Vietnam scenerio and I will tell you why France failed. We never destroyed the government nor did we get the support of the surrounding countries to help us finish them. These are the lessons we learned and why we will eventually succeed now. Opposing governments are destroyed and surrounding governments are assisting giving them no safe haven. India is rightfully worried that occupying Pakistan will be their Vietnam but you have to do it or this will continue ad infinitum.
India has a game plan for state actors which is no other than Pakistani military and the rest of its associated institutions. Let me assure you we are moving steadily in that direction for the last 3.5 year. And as long as Congress does not come to power this action plan will go along and with greater intensity in times to come.
However, expecting India alone to take on it, is hypocrisy. West which is supporting Pakistani institutions directly indirectly for so long now has to realize that what they see as a geographically distant problem is actually knocking western doors already.
I mean which terrorist attack in the world had no connection with Pakistan? And which secret service of NATO members did not know about Pakistani Military institutions involvement in nurturing those terrorists. You got Osama there and who not. Yet for some reason, we see west selling weapons to Pakistan in addition to other kinds of help they often receive.
It is only because of our relentless diplomatic aggression that Pakistan is facing considerable heat. Which in reality should have come as an automatic response from rest of the civilized world.
In the end, I will just say India will face its problems and defeat it regardless of the world acknowledges the fact that the threat of terrorism that India is facing is by no mean India centric only. Or not.
