The article is carefully written to diminish Indian response ,glorify Pakistan and demotivate Indian psyche , written like a paki to bait Indians.

The message it wants to deliver is first of all is not New its been discussed here itself many times ,
but it could have been delivered with much less baiting and paki glorification ,

When India is thinking about tough measures ,Print comes out with articles after articles how war is no solution or India needs to think about economy or is India ready , or given the furor and sadness over loss of n number of soldiers , is it wise to go for war where it will be n×100 .

Look at the words in the article HELPLESS WAILING , Publicity stunt , destroyed one more bunker from pakistan(lol) , pakistan can hold its own against India , impotent rage which pakistan laughs at ,artillery duels are silliest form of retaliation , pakis can match us acc to ythis JNU chaap

Also according to this presstitute its nothing new and artillery strikes have been conducted many times , remind me how many times have we pounded pakis with 155mm ?

It states it has no effect on pakistan , yet paki economy has been choked by efforts of India ,arms race etc and India continuously making LOC expensive for pakis.

Hes all like it won't deter ,it won't stop pakis ,its impotent rage
,so does this genius have a solution ?

will this presstitute media support India
OR
publish articles after articles de motivating India, if India decides to scale up escalation ?

Hes all like it won't matter , his self made assumption that India actually expects pakis to stop after these duels and then forcing it on public.

His assumption/implication these artillery attacks and Loc actions are a LOT WORSE than doing nothing as it gives pakis bla bla bla,

His jibe at Indisn whats app warriors satisfaction ,hmmm acc to this Jnu chaap we should give paki whatsapp warriors satisfaction by doing nothing ,

This article is all bark with literally nothing new , and is wrong on so many assumptions , as it does affects pakis ,it does affects terrorist numbers , it does make it costly for pakistan , combined with Indian armys new found vigour for modernization ,
It does help in forming new concepts , it did make us form IBGs (practical go ahead) , it did make us come with AFSOD ,
It also gives us valuable lessons , both 2016 and balakot has given valuable lessons .

But this jnu chaap says hey it doesn't matter to pakis at all and India is helpless yet their PM is out with a begging bowl every other month but hey it doesn't matter ,
It will only matter when India does nothing ,sing aman ka tamasha ,let terrorism go on and lose kashmir ,

then it will matter acc to this jnu chaap.
Hmm... now that you mention it, I do see that angle. Thanks for pointing it out.
Continuous and severe punishment has its impact on the psyche of the enemy.
When we leave actions to just a no action vs fight to the death, it leaves us with very little room to wiggle.
Pakis need to know, that we can use any option for any reason. Preemptive or reactive. The more unpredictable our response, they better behaved they will be.

The other angle of continuous punishment is to punish them economically too. Thats one of the deaths that macho opinion writers forget.

Sorry guys. I know it felt very bad but as a normal indians we felt. The response should be like that no enemy can dare to rebound. I think in this we are lacking. Huge economy , huge army , huge reserve but still our response is tit for tat.
Tit for Tat???
Look at the world map. Brother Indian Army created two country out of one in 1971 and still the paxis boast about 1 moslem = 10 hindu baniya.
Paxtan is a shameless country which rely on propaganda. It's not our fault that you are too blind to see through it.
Besides do you really think an army which disowned it's dead soldiers in Kargil will disclose the amount of casualties it has suffered on LOC.

Trouble with the hawks is that their solution is war .. no matter what the question is.

Despite what you may hear/see, the fact is that India is struggling economically. A COVID shutdown has further messed things up. The govt does not have Uncle Scrooge's vault. Its coffers are built up slowly day by day from the taxes on everyday transactions. For the last few days - that has not happened.

Some may argue that 50 days max out of 365 should not make an impact. But in reality everything over 7 makes sirens go off. Why?

Most of the govts including ours across the world run huge deficits i.e. they already spend more than they make. This is financed by getting debt. Smart nations keep deficit in check and make sure the debt they take is manageable. India tries its best to keep its debt within limits but meets limited success.

It needs a large chunk of its money just to meet the pension and salary needs. Then there are capital investments in infra, health education which cannot be avoided.

You cannot ask lakhs of people to go without salaries or pensions. Even pay cuts are not feasible given how almost everyone today has expenses right up to their income and lives from salary to salary.

Our 400 Billion reserves are the proverbial elephants tooth. We cannot use all of it. Its needed to show lenders and investors that India wont default on payments.

The government has its hands tied, which is why it can not go full on to war. It does not mean it cannot place well timed kicks on our not so friendly neighbor. These firestrikes are just that. They remind Pak from time to time that while we wont go to war, we can cause you pain if you dont behave.

Celebrate guys.... Long awaited news.
PoK may be on track.
Sorry for posting at wrong place though (but I hope it proves to be the right place!!)
I was in an impression that some unexpected will be done by this government for what happened in 27feb2019 before 2024. But the economic conditions due to covid29! There are reports that india is cutting down its defense allocation in this financial year.

A young worker dies in a mill can you justify that death?
Death can never be justified no matter how evil or saint a person is.

That being said that's why soldiers are given respect all around India and the world. They sign a cheque whose value is their life. Military is not your everyday office where you will make mistake and then correct it.
Soldiers die in military for the littlest of mistake their colleagues make. They die in friendly fire, they die while doing friendly military exercise and sometimes they even die while patrolling border. Army is a hardcore job for hardcore people and those who join it knows the cost.

So respect soldiers when next time you see them. Crying on the internet will not do them any good.

Really? Like supah powah US of A which has screwed up all its interventions from Vietnam to Congo, to Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria, and the so called failed 'Color Revolutions' in the Central Asian Republics.

So no. The Super Powers don't have a frikkin clue of what they need to do! Chasing mirages for achieving a New World Order has come a cropper.
Superpower like USA,uk, Russia, France, China never lose land like India lost land to 7 times smaller Pakistan.

Very much doubt it has anything to do with getting back PoK.
We are just utilising the opportunity of low prices to fill the reserves.

The economy has taken a battering; the forces need to augment for another 2-3 yeas.
There is no stomach for a war now, for war it will be. An offensive in PoK won't be confined to just there; will spill over the IB ( if you meant to take over all pok and not just a localised strike)
Wait till 2023, if at all

There is a learning curve that all have to endure and for DRDO / Ordinance Factories it has been too steep ...
There is a learning curve theory in the Management Accounting. it is very important in decision making. By using that theory , you can predict the timing of the job or any work which is repeated. This is just for the information of thread members

We never loss significant land to pakistan, the land loss to pak happened in 1965 is miniscule what we earned in that war.

Artillery strikes on Pakistan will only bring good PR. For impact, India needs more Balakots
India can flail around like a helpless giant, engaging in pointless artillery duels with Pakistan or increase penalty each time the neighbor crosses the line.

The killing of five Indian Special Forces soldiers by Pakistan Army sponsored terrorists required an Indian military response. But not this. The effect of India’s retaliatory artillery strikes on Pakistan’s behavior is easy to predict: zero, zilch, nada. Though the drone footage of artillery shells falling on (presumably) Pakistani positions might impress India’s WhatsApp warriors, it is not going to change the Pakistan Army’s behavior even an iota.

This is easy to predict, partly because India has done this many times in the past, with no discernible effect. So there is no reason to expect the results this time to be any different. But mostly, it is an easy prediction because its logic appears to be the same as it always was: a publicity stunt to demonstrate that action was being taken rather than a calculated effort to deter future attacks.

Pakistan won’t pause
Artillery attacks are the silliest form of military retaliation because Pakistan can easily reply in the same coin. Maybe Indian attacks will be more precise, or will kill more Pakistani soldiers, but these are marginal considerations for the Pakistan Army. The fact that India destroyed one more bunker than Pakistan did or that it managed to blow up a Pakistan ammunition dump will not even figure in Pakistan Army’s calculations, let alone alter that math. Don’t expect even a pause in the Pakistan Army’s effort to push terrorists into Kashmir.

Artillery and mortar duels across the LoC do not demonstrate Indian military’s superiority but rather a false military equivalence between the two sides. If Pakistan Army’s behavior is any guide, it actually breeds confidence that they can hold their own against India and that Pakistan is militarily as strong as India.

This is actually a lot worse than failing to deter Pakistan because it encourages the neighbour to continue its policy of supporting terror. The overriding impression – and hence the message – of India’s action is that it is unwilling or unable to escalate. This is disappointing because, in the last few years, India appeared to have overcome its traditional fear of escalation, as demonstrated by the surgical strike and the Balakot attack. What is in doubt now is India’s capacity to stay the course. Both those attacks broke the mould: the surgical strike because India openly claimed it, and the Balakot attack because India retaliated inside Pakistan’s territory for the first time.

India needs to continually penalise Pakistan
But occasional attacks like these will not suffice. New Delhi has to be prepared to militarily escalate each time Pakistan tests it. It should be prepared to escalate further if Pakistan responds to its escalation. Even in Balakot, India let Pakistan’s retaliatory attack go unanswered. Although there were some extenuating circumstances: one of India’s pilots had been shot down and was a prisoner and getting him back took precedence. Moreover, India had already undertaken a paradigm-breaking move. Both these factors provided a limited excuse for not escalating further.

New Delhi needs to address this key question: whether it is retaliating for show or effect? Until now, save the surgical strike and Balakot, India’s retaliation has been for show: to simply demonstrate that it was enraged. But it was an impotent rage, a flailing around that Pakistan could safely laugh it off while India suffered. It demonstrated more of India’s helplessness than its strength. Most unfortunately, it appeared to suggest that India’s conventional military superiority was useless in tackling Pakistan’s terror tactics.

The surgical strike and Balakot appeared to be the first step to suggest that India was moving towards retaliation for effect, to demonstrate to Pakistan that it could escalate in a manner that neighbour would not be able to match. Although none of the two attacks went as far as they should have, they at least ended the long-standing myth that any Indian escalation would lead to an uncontrolled action-reaction spiral, all the way to a nuclear exchange.

Looking beyond Balakot
But these strikes needed to be followed up with further action to demonstrate that India has both the capacity and willingness to escalate. New Delhi should have used every serious terrorist attack as an excuse for escalation, and any military response from Pakistan as an excuse for further escalation.

The problem, of course, is that this requires discipline: it takes longer-term planning, careful preparation and calibrated action. Any Indian action would lead to a response. Indian reactions to all possible Pakistani responses need to be prepared prior to any action, even while fully realising that not everything can be predicted or controlled. But a dedicated deterrence strategy and disciplined preparation would give India a much better chance of dealing with the inevitable surprises that are bound to occur with any such enterprise.

Alternatively, India can flail around like a helpless giant, engaging in pointless artillery duels, because as sure as night follows day, we’ll be here again and again.

Anyone asking for more is good.
