Bullets found abandoned in Kollam Pak made, bomb squad inspection underway

KOLLAM: Suspicions have arisen regarding the bullets found abandoned by the roadside in Kulathupuzha in Kollam. The bomb squad is inspecting the area. The label of Pakistan Ordnance Factory (POF) on the bullets leads to the suspicion of Pak links. Top-level officers including have reached the spot.
14 bullets were found abandoned near the Muppathadi bridge in Kulathuppuzha. The bullets came to the notice of the local residents. Two types of bullets were found, 2 normal bullets and 12 bullets are the ones made for machine guns. The presence of machine-gun bullets has alarmed the police.
A probe under the leadership of the Kottarakkara special branch DySP is underway.
Meanwhile, bullets were seized by the excise from a car at the Koottupuzha check post in the Kannur-Karnataka border. Sixty bullets in six packets were seized from a car's trunk. K Pramod, a Thillankeri native and the driver of the car, has been held. He is being questioned at the Iritty police station. The police said the bullets are the ones used in locally made guns. It is learnt that he was on his way from Virajpet near Kudaku.
