Iaf after these incident mostly used mirage 2000 in rest of war and found mirage was most effective in mountain warfare than any other plane.
Even Dassault aviation was going to field mirage 2000 in mmrca seeing love of iaf towards mirage 2000 but in last minute placed rafale in mmrca program

This is about strategy which in war changes depending on the scenario how you can say that Air Force morale was down? the above article you quoted is about strategy and if something fails you try another thing there is no moral down in that.

So this could be a one of thing or the buildup for something before.

It does make a lot of sense to announce this beforehand as a secret buildup is going to raise much more suspicion as Indian SAT and ISR platforms will track any buildup.

It is been taking place at LOC from both sides at regular intervals for a long time. Pakistan do have ambitions of integrating G & B and its an undeniable fact.
