Maybe it's the cynic in me, but I wouldn't get my hopes up on IAF doing anything spectacular in the event of hostilities. Barring some heroic exceptions, they will always come up with excuses like they did on that fateful Feb 27th. IA is the real juggernaut and everyone in the neighborhood fear us for that.

The Indian Navy is the silent juggernaut. India's naval advantage in the Indian Ocean is tremendous versus the other Indian Ocean region countries. As far as Pakistan is concerned, the Indian Navy can probably destroy the entire Pakistan Navy in a matter of days, add to the fact that they operate only out of Karachi port. That would of course be a higher level of escalation, but the capability advantage of IN vs PN is a magnitude more than IA vs PA.
