This weaves into our theory that countries are trying to bypass the European Union, economically speaking. Nordic countries have been very keen in establishing strong economic ties looking at all the opportunities that India offers them. There was a point in time in the mid-2000s when none of the European countries even looked at India.

On sectors that will benefit from the India-EFTA free trade deal, Norway Minister for Trade and Industry Jan Christian Vestre says, "We will reduce customs duties, tariffs on more or less all products; almost 100% will be without any tariffs that mean Indian exporters will have access to our markets... We have made concessions in a lot of different and important industries such as textile, agriculture, different kinds of services, construction companies, infrastructure...We will also work together on renewable energy and how to speed up the green transition together..."
