Peacock is the 'vahan' of Lord Kartikeya, the God Of War.

Feeding the peacock means to purge snakes in our midst and invoke Lord Kartikeya's blessings in preparation of war.

I have a gut feeling this SSR business is linked with the situation at LAC somehow...
Maybe the peacock is just Modi's illegal pet... Its really been hard to figure out Modi's 9 dimensional moves.. (if any?)
The drip feed by CBI and ED to the media, about the SSR case, has certainly helped the centre to distract from China and Covid related issues, to some extent..

Why will Russia address our concerns.. ? Its for the Chinese to address our concerns..
Russia probably doesn't want us to go to the US camp so is trying to broker a peace deal between India and China a part of which may include India accepting the new status quo and China withdrawing additional troops and artillery and other equipment and a word from Russia that China will not engage in further incursions along the LAC for the time being, all of which is not acceptable by us as clearly stated by the MEA, so the new invitation for these tri-lateral talks is probably for addressing these concerns and Russia is involved because its interests are at stake if India moves to the US camp.

----------------

“Right now, the situation seems to be in a stasis, but that is essentially dictated by weather and terrain. The rivers and nalas are currently in full spate in eastern Ladakh, and with the tracks located in the valleys, they become unusable and inaccessible. That rules out any military action

But as the water subsides, and even though the weather then may be slightly colder, October is a campaigning season in the area for which the Army is fully prepared,

The 1962 border war between India and China was fought in the months of October and November. It spanned the areas in Ladakh which are currently the friction points between the two armies for the last 115 days.

----------------

October will be an "interesting" month

To a very large extent I must say, even after S Jaishankar's statement("The most serious conflict after 1962") about the seriousness of the conflict I did not see the media discussing it, I thought that something like this statement could actually bring back the stand-off to the newsroom.

India moves into US camp.. then Russia gets cozy with Pakistan.. between there is only so much Russia can do w.r.t an India China issue . It is for us to resolve it through diplomacy or fight it out..

If I might remind the folks here about the Sino-Vietnamese war.

1. China considered Vietnam a partner, remember these words, "partner". Chinese ministers keep this rhetoric alive, considering India an important "partner". But at what magnitude of partnership? For Vietnam it was a "small" partner.
2. Nature of attack was 3 pronged, just like its building capability for a three pronged attack at three strategic areas of Indian LAC.
3. 3 fronts, I'd not be surprised if there were 5 fronts pulled up.
4. Sino-Vietnam war was short, Chinese PLAGF doctrine till now as been seen is to attack, if threat of other power enters to support, chicken out. They did us in 1962, but couldn't in 1967.
5. Propaganda was there always throw away weapon, but Vietnam as a geography is mainly jungle. Jungle is something they are going to see in AP.

Considering our sheer Army size, ground attacks will be unfruitful for them. Considering our air war experience even with low squadron figures, we can still beat the shit out of them.

And do what ? Russia is supporting us because we are their gravy train , just look at the amount of defence imports we do from them ? Can pakistan afford to lease Akula SSN ? Can pakistan afford to buy S-400 ? can they even afford to buy Kilo class SSK ? As of now they are getting things at subsidy from China all their weapons ? Will russia give same subsidy to pakis ? and for what ?

SCO meeting is an alternative to discuss at high level talks at RM or EAM levels . Russia is not in a position to dictate china what it should do . Those days have gone past long ago . Today Russia is heavily dependent on China to scrape through its economic crisis .

That defence business with Russia will slowly unwind within the next decade and a half, if India moves completely into US Camp.. because, it would be India as the weaker power which would be required align more with american interests than vice versa. American National security doctrine officially sees Russia as an adversary.. And if America gives us any substantial assistance during an Indo China war, then they will extract their price.. The US wants to seriously hurt Russian defence industry, and there is no better way to do that than unwinding Indian defence trade with Russia.

LAC will be treated as hostile border and situation will be a frozen conflict like Siachen.

India will not relent. Economic measures aside, military funding/purchase/domestic production will be boosted x 10.
Siachen is not a frozen conflict..I think u mentioned it in literal sense

Second Phase of 1962 war took place between 20th Oct to 20th November. I don't think India is going to hit back. It's over. We have not even banned Chinese toys.
