That does not explain how they manage to sustain their troops in a desert plateau in winter.. with infrastructure links cut.. Tibet has population of 30 lakh.. Such huge area and such a tiny population.. you get the idea how difficult it is to sustain a large presence that too in winter..
With all due respect, this is missile era not 1945 subsonic era and china is not Russia in war fighting.
Truth is in short term we may not gain much but if war escalates there may not be a china left to tell the tale.
Because they fly subsonic any short range SAM system can shoot down a cruise missile, even the Akash SAM will do, MR-SAM or S400 are overkill. The problem is detecting them early enough because they fly low and even an AWACs has to use look down radar to pick them up out of ground clutter which may not work sometimes. So a network of dispersed networked ground radars supplemented by airborne AWACSs should solve the detection problem. But the IAF has a well known shortage of AWACs which in a war situation will have their hands full. But defence against cruise missiles is a problem which even the USAF has a challenge facing.
I think defense of AP was already top notch. This is signaling that we will hit you from there as well. Maybe this is us trying to stretch chinese army. We can deploy more troops than them.
Anyone that went to China for any reasonable amount of time and interacted or visited Tibet knows what they are allowed to say. Just having DalaiLama mentioned can put you into a reeducation camp.
