What happens (hypothetically over a year) if it becomes a full scale war AND IA estimates that China is NOT in a position to fight India around Sikkim (for whatever reason)? Even then IA / India will not consider crossing the IB there (assuming China does NOT cross IB there)?

In 65 India opened Rajasthan sector crossed IB to ease the pressure in Kashmir but after war we gave back the territory held (on Pak side) that's what called settled international border.
Here Sikkim is not LAC to do incursions unless we are in WAR!

I think intelligences played a important but who provided it hard to tell. At most possible scenarios many agencies cross info like Japanese, RAW, Wetern Intelligence agencies ground reports etc.
