"The Vice Chiefs of the three services have been given the financial powers up to Rs 500 crore per project to acquire the required weapon systems under fast track procedures needed to fill whatever shortcomings or requirement is felt," a senior government official was quoted as saying by ANI.

Under Capital acquisition

The defence ministry on Wednesday granted special powers to the three services for individual capital procurement programme worth Rs 300 crore to meet emergent operational requirements, officials said.

They said there was no cap on the number of procurement programmes and that each acquisition under the emergency requirement category should not cost more than Rs 300 crore.

From strategic POV do places where China are present now across LAC hold any significance?
Otherwise why would they intrude ?
Because if India significantly cuts off trade relation with them , was those land worth the money lost to CCP ?

The water issue is one obvious strategic consideration. If you go back through the posts in the thread, you'll probably find it's been discussed to death already.

Long-term the Chinese might be thinking of diverting the Indus or at the least developing the capability to divert the water of the Indus , though the construction of ,say, pumping stations ,canals, barrages, pipes or tunnels. Looking at the map ,they might possibly do this by connecting the Indus to Pangong Lake ,then to Chang Chenmo River and then to the tributaries of the Galwan. ,though to Xinjiang in China.

The Chinese might want to create a buffer zone ,that will keep the Indian forces from these infrastructure development, and seize of control of heights that overlook any such critical structures..

If that ever happens(and it's a big if) India might find that it will no longer be able to deploy the Indus water card against Pakistan

Clearly Chinese hand is behind this.. and they have opened a new communal front. They are hoping to ignite religious hatred between hindu and Buddhist.

So that the indian govt is forced to not provide asylum or support to dalai lama or support Buddhism or Tibet or dharmsala.

We will have to see how far this protest goes..

How ever long and loud the leftist cry, if the right wing media leaves it alone it will go away but i doubt the right wing media is smart enough to ignore it.

Well things are hotting up in SCS. Sec Pompeo has already prepared political ground by rejecting Chinese claims in SCS. Means China's artificial islands are now illegal. Who stops USA from striking one of these artificial islands?

Biden - is very unlikely to become President astrologically.

He also has onset of dementia; and will be a puppet President if elected. I think most Americans are unlikely to vote for Biden.

Polls can be wrong as America has a history of manipulating polls.

However even in the worst case, that is Biden comes to power, one must not assume that China will have its way.

India does have influence and contacts in the democratic party.
