first thing that comes to mind,can India pull back all soldiers,paramilitaries and weaponries from western theater,north east counter insurgency and anti maoist operations ? Doing so is suicidal.
and how long India will be able to blockade Malacca straight ?......given the sheer numerical and technical superiority of the PLAAN ?


But the bottomline is China will never go for a conventional war,this is an era of asymmetric warfare,if the relationship deteriorates,it will return back to what it always did in the past,ie,sponsor insurgency in N.E and create political instability so that Indian military simply gets bogged down with internal conflicts.

Until and unless India fixes the basics(builds an economic parity with a strong industrial base)these quick fix measures like positioning rafales and other imported weapons is simply useless.

India is just so heavily reliant on China,so much so that they can not only harm us economically but can completely put our economy to a grinding halt, if they wish to do so.

There is an economic angle here as well. Why was China so stupid enough to take on India right when the US-led West was ratcheting up trade war with Beijing? China needs Indian markets and a boycott by the latter, if possible (and that's honestly a big IF) will lead to the closure of many Chinese factories.

It really does not make sense, unless certain senior military officers in the PLA are on the payroll of the CIA. If you want to ruin China, you need to cut off access to ALL markets.

China has always perceived India as a rival and a threat. Why China wants to go to war with India now? Maybe China is merely executing a plan which it prepared 30 years ago.

India America relationship is decent and improving. There is no reason to doubt it.

India has a robust relationship with Russia as well and we know USA and Russia do not get along. However India can manage both relationships successfully.

China is India's largest trading partner which is heavily skewed in china's favour. India imports everything,starting from diwali crackers to advanced machines from China. In-fact many of the ingredients and raw materials of so called "made in India" are imported from China,besides many of the Indian biggies and start ups are backed by chinese firms and financial institutions.

20 percent of the auto components and 70 percent of electronic components come from China. Similarly, 45 percent of consumer durables, 70 percent of APIs and 40 percent of leather goods imported are from China.
