Love ho nobody talks about Depsang. As if we never patrolled that area. Just brushed under the carpet.
I think India clarified about the Chinese claim that Disengagement is far from complete. So that means Depsang is still in play. But I doubt Chinese are interested in retreating anymore & they aren't interested in talks too. Shiv aroor 's Depsang article still looks light years away btw :lawl:

On one hand we have a country like Afghanistan with hardly a modern army who are kicking a nuclear armed country like Pakistan thok thok ke on their borders while we another nuclear armed country are only doing chai biscott sessions with an enemy who is squatting on our territory . When will we grow a pair.
With due respect, Afghanistan can't be compared to India, think about it they know pakis won't go nuclear over some Afghans killing some salwars, they don't have much to loose in a way. OTOH if India goes to war, think about all the investments, talks of investment in India will cease to exist and war no matter how much we win will be an economic setback to this country and you are forgetting that we have already broken chinki necks, at least 30, so reply was given to them then and there.
Going guns blazing without considering the consequences can be stupid especially considering the country like ours, we are neither Pakistan nor Afhganis, we are two biggest nuclear-capable economies with MAD capability, in Asia.

But China has no first use policy like India. MAD possibility is not very much. I agree with the point of going into a full fledged conventional conflict can damage our Economy but a low threshold response can also be given like in 1967 to vacate Finger 5-8 & push them in SSN.

Yeah, i am just wondering in popular discourse it is not being mentioned as much as Pangong Tso, even though the area is much larger there apparently.

Shiv Aroor won't be writing any time soon about it. He got his fill.

what u said is right but their interests do conflict with our when it comes to military hardware and sharing a equal partnership....
First India should get it's economy on an equal basis with the US and then get it's innovation and R&D on an equal basis, then there will be equal partnership. Otherwise to ask for an equal partnership with the kind of economic and military disparity that exists today is living in a fantasyland. Heck, India informs the US about major operations it plans to conduct in it's neighborhood such as Balakot or even the ASAT test prior to the event.

responsible powers inform their counterparts ahead of any major actions being taken, it's a trust building exercise.

India should not have a goal of having parity with USA. it's the same mistake CCP has made, now they are caught in their own trap.

India could however have internal goals based on where we want to reach, which is happening anyway.

unless there is a stroke of luck or genius, a country always take time to evolve and we are in such a transitionary phase. unfortunately, at this point in time i don't see a case where progress has been institutionalised in india for a better future.

BrahMos to Test Airborne Early Warning Aircraft Killer Missile Soon - Aerospace Chief

New Brahmos missile will take down enemy 'force multipliers'
So definition of "soon" is 2 years according to Brahmos. Most other companies when they announce a test soon, means in a few weeks. And that 2 years is for the first test flight and then the series of test flights will last 2-3 years at least. So IOC is at least 5-6 years away. By that time there will be massive developments in long range air to air weaponry in other countries.

Which side would the US public choose in an India-China conflict?

ott : @UZI™️ many def channels are talking about tender for Tejas mk2 wings out.
so first flight before 2023?
Chairman and Managing Director of HAL, R Madhavan, has said that the prototypes of the three fighters will be ready in the next four years.

“So first the LCA Mk2 will come out, and then the TEDBF and then AMCA. Prototypes of all three will be out within 3-4 years,” Madhavan said in the interview, adding that HAL was looking at a seven to eight year time-frame for ‘each of these aircraft getting airborne’.
