What you are saying is akin to saying: Russia fought Japan very hard because they captured Manchuria, Sakhalin islands and kuril islands in 1945 at the fag end of the war.. against a Japanese military which was already a spent force.
US and their allies opened the western front in June 1944 at the fag end of the war.. The German military was brutalized already by the Soviets, and most german forces were concentrated on the russian front to tackle the oncoming hammer of Operation Bagration. Operation bagration was more important in burying the Nazis than d day landings .. but damned Hollywood or western media in general hardly acknowledge it.

Finding it hard to get enough stretchers to carry the frozen and unconscious chinese soldiers back into camp ..china has decided to stop sending more troops to front line.

We should not vacate. If we, now, ask for status quo ante then it means that we are willing to vacate the 39 heights as status quo ante is not possible without this.
