The USA will have to contend with the reality that other countries will increasingly do what they have to secure their interests and territorial integrity. Either they will adapt accordingly or they will be forgotten as the world moves forward without them.

The Ukraine-Russia War has already severely weakened the West. The only thing that holds them together is the USD's artificial prop-up still. The Israel-Palestine/HAMAS War has further complicated the situation where Western trade is at risk, millions of unskilled and violent manpower are entering Europe, and they are de-industrializing faster than ever due to carbon tax and other self-destructive practices.

It is true that lot of good minds across the world end up in U.S, but I feel even without the outsiders the innovation and scientific arena in the U.S will still be the same. Lot of the guys in U.S do not do Ph.D as the pay is not good and the tenure track positions are difficult to get after Ph.D.
