.. mil is a british inherited legacy baggage...both the good and the bad in it... post '47, we added our own desi ingredients and made it what it is today - steeped in privileges, inherent class system, chummy chummy chumminess at the top, boot/ass licking to take the fast track ladder, lowest the order is your servant mentality, etc etc.....bringing in the requried change ain't gonna happen tomorrow or next year or even the next ..will take multi decade effort to undo centuries of 'culture'.

Dalbir Singh Suhag. A no nonsense army guy.

DS Suhag who hails from GR(4/5) as well, is a very capable personality the USP of his career that he has executed critical OPS under his command. His ops history dates back since he was company commander in OP pawan in Jaffna against LTTE till the 2016 Surgical Strike
But he has also been part of few controversies like his appointment as COAS and a compromised military Intelligence OP in jorhat when he was GOC 3 Corps.

Both MM Naravane and DS Suhag are decorated officers - both commanded RR and headed EASTERN COMMAND hence have exposure to both the enimies we have. Even on the educational background which many undermine both have Masters in Defence studies and Naravne sir is also Mphil in defence studies and even Pursuing a Phd, he is also alumunus of DSSC wellington. While suhag sir did Foreign Courses with Academies in USA AND UK. One should never undermine studies in the field of profession.

Dont be disheartened if RKS Bhadauria gets appointed - he has been Commanding Officer of Flight Test Squadron at Aircraft and System Testing Establishment and Chief Test Pilot and Project Director of National Flight Test Centre on the Tejas LCA project. Test pilots are the best of the best. He has a heart for indigenisation.

Army folks have a more aggressive approach and can be more vocal/bolder in tight situations. If the air force gets it, that’s ok too. Someone knowledgeable on dealing ‘effectively’ with the existing threats is what is required. Future CDS should work closely with the NSA

Current CDS on setting up the rocket force and pushing for cyber warfare was very refirmstive. Future CDS officers should have this open minded approach for modernization and reforms.

A few billion dollars poured into a cyber warfare/defense command every year yields tremendous benefits in todays world.

The world run on intent, initiative and marketing not morality, good behaviour or kind heart.

Ignoring all your sweeping generalizations and adjectives if Punjabis have gain any so-called influence then they must have worked hard and played their cards better than the others. Their overtures to Jihadi eco system could be because they had no other option due to absent of Hindu eco system.

CDS at this point in time is about being a negotiator and negotiation enabler with core mandate of Jointmanship and creation of theatre command as baseline, who ever becomes CDS has to be good at negotiation skills.

IN has it's own domain with little overlap until the question of marines starts being discussed, most of the negotiations are within IA and IA with IAF.

Army's involvement starts at the very base of escalation matrix going all the way till the top ,they have more incidents directly with the enemy. Hence Army leaders are more vocal and bolder looking.
While AF is heavily teach oriented service, they are extremely confident and accurate in their demeanor. They also have tremendous aggression but you will only see that on rare occasions. If it was not for the boil of blood then you would not have an F16 downed by a Mig 21.
I think it was the Air force day celebration when one of the reporter asked RKS bhadauriya that "if we will be able to handle chinese or not" ? - The look in his eyes will tell you he could have eaten PLAFF in dinner.. He just said " we will be able to handle any contingency - ALL THREE SERVICES" and asked reporter to Have Faith in the Services.
People Should listen to lectures of BS DHANOA sir , that guy is one of his kind. perfect mix of Fearlessness, Focus and Fun.

IAF has constituted a tri-service Court of Inquiry to investigate the cause of the tragic helicopter accident on 08 Dec 21. The inquiry would be completed expeditiously & facts brought out. Till then, to respect the dignity of the deceased, uninformed speculation may be avoided.

Now, it seems something fishy. Why would such a huge miscommunication exist? Every effing thing is supposed to be logged in and there cannot be any chance of 'he said / she said' in this case. If the choppers were sent, there has to be navigation footprint/blackboxes in those machines that would attest to the fact.

This is a matter of CDS of the nation, not some random road accident like they are acting!
