How many more TD needs to be built before its induction?
What is still missing?
What is still holding back this project?

I am asking about present scenario.
Thanks in advance
One more prototype is being built TD4 and after that induction I guess.

I think adding a radar like the Apache helicopter will enhance the air to air capability.

The radar mast is used for Anti-tank radar guided hellfire, Same goes for other kind of gunship of similar config ..

=========

After sucessful trails by HAL, The production version will get IOC certification then it will be under User trails after than only their will be induction ..

In the wikipedia page it was mentioned

LCH is intended for use in air defence against slow moving aerial targets (e.g. aircraft and UAVs), Counter Surface Force Operation (CSFO),[22] destruction of enemy air defence operations, escort to special heliborne operations (SHBO), Counter-insurgency operations (COIN), offensive Employment in Urban Warfare, support of combat search and rescue operations (SAR) operations, anti-tank role and scout duties.[23] It will also be capable of high-altitude warfare (HAW) since its operational ceiling will be 6,000–6,500 metres (19,700–21,300 ft).[19]

I think a radar similar to Apache will be a good addition.

In the same page it was mentioned TD4 will also be built.

#BreakingNews #HAL warms up for #LCH TD3 first flight. Weather-permitting, 2.30 pm fixed for take-off. @oneIndia @Tarmak007
its under belly is big, they should trim it somewhat if possible,it may help in improving aerodynamics too.

Your query already answered earlier ;)

why lch needs to be bloated in area?

Your expert opinions have been registered and forwarded to HAL's rotorcraft division. The technical critique forced an urgent design review and the design team have decided to cut out the bloated parts. Here's a sneek peak to what LCH TD-3 will look like.

I believe the it won`t be technology demonstration but production model for IOC and later FOC config ..
I don't know about that but HAL are calling it the TD-4:

"Two additional prototypes (TD3 and TD4) are planned to reduce development time leading to IOC. TD3 has been built and has commenced ground runs from September 7 and the TD4 fabrication is under progress," an HAL official said.
HAL fast-tracks indigenous light combat chopper project - Economic Times

With Successful flight of Light combat Helicopter TD-3 recently, HAL is aggressively working on fabrication work of TD-4 and plans to have its first flight by February or March next year
Anyway, for the good news:

"We have invested Rs 150 crore more in the project to build two more prototypes of the LCH which will help in advancing the date of Intial Operational Clearance (IOC) from December 2015 to September 2015," HAL Chief RK Tyagi told PTI here.

You don't think the designers have done everything they can to optimise the aerodynamic performance of this bird whilst keeping weight as low as possible? Be assured that nothing on this bird is simply "along for the ride" but makes its way into the final design after scrupulous analysis and modelling. If that "bulge" is there it is because is needs to be.

Is there any news of any new engine for the LCH ?
Also can anyone clarify the empty weight vs fully loaded weight of the TD3 ?
