why did we need DMRL to build/ research and develop naval grade steel ?
Because that steel is not required by industry in India and there is no guarantee that if private sector makes that the Government or shipyards will buy that. Private industry is profit driven.

why didnt the TATAs, Jindals, etc etc etc stepup?
For the same reason as above

why is it that Pvt sector always employs PSU people in their setup ?
Because after disgruntlement and supersession or retirement, they are cheaper. They bring some experience with them.

why is it ex SAIL employees that made Arcelor Mittal the largest steel co in the world ?
why is it exSAIL employees who turn around loss making / junk steel plants around the globe for Arcelor mittal ?

It is money capital and organisation of Mittal which is responsible for it and not some PSU nut employed by Mittal. PSU nuts and ex government servants are employed by big wigs to push up their sales, raw material, land etc by utilising their connection and for bribing the government officials. The disgruntled, superseded and retired PSU employees come very cheap considering the expertise and experience they bring in. They are cheap material used by the private sector.

i acn go on ...............
Fine, the PSU nuts are so good and competent why most of them go into red and sinking government money. They have no commitments and responsibility to themselves and their employer. They are free loaders and live off the public resources. In fact these all must be closed and shut down.

By your logic all those must be handed over to Mittal so that he puts in sticks into all of them towards output. Is not that your logic.

Indians have got to the habit of hyping up Private companies which have virtually no capabilities and contributions as far as defense field goes.

Even in automobiles which TATA and Mahindra are working on several decades, they are not able to match to the quality of japanese or germans. There is no point in cribbing about bring Pvt companies.

It was L & T right? Can you also list contributions of public sector companies?
Dude, I asked it when your you post these--->
Private companies which have virtually no capabilities and contributions as far as defense field goes.
It was congress who kept private sector away from defence business for so long.

Now if we keep private sector away, at present and in future also and never stop to say the above words, then does it make any good to these situation?

Indian requirements are huge, as far as defence is concerns. There are no ways one can match it with the help of our PSUs only.

How the hell we gonna improve these man made situation!

Indian Navy looking to add more Naval Dhruv to its fleet : Navy chief

Navy is looking for additional ALHs for enhanced maritime operations in the IOR. To a specific query whether the Navy would go for weaponised versions of ALH, the Navy Chief said: "Our requirements are different. Now we are using them for SAR (search and rescue) operations and as a utility copter.
In future, we want the ALHs for shallow water ASW (anti-submarine warfare) requirements. So we hope to get the best ALHs."

He said the naval aviation is on a threshold with the induction of new assets. "We have the MiG 29 Ks (both fighter and trainer) flying onboard INS Vikramaditya. More MiG 29Ks will be inducted soon to consolidate their operational process from an aircraft carrier. We have inducted six P8-Is at Rajali and two more will join to complete the first slot."

"We have a case in progress to explore the option clause for four more," he said. He said the rotary UAV programme undertaken by the DRDO has been very slow. "We have taken note of the delay in the project. We have given lots of impetus to the project in the last two years. We have laid down stringent timelines and conveyed the same to DRDO for an early solution. We have seen some progress on this front now," the Admiral said.

He said the Navy's relationship with DRDO is that of a synergy.
