Does anyone has any information about the payload of Rudra? If it can carry only 48 70mm rockets, won't its payload be equal to that of LCH?

But IAF keeps very quiet when sukhois crash with fly by wire faults,

And many sukhois landing with single engines after shaft failures in one engine,

and the ever crashing Migs that killed hundreds of young pilots for decades(a loss of 1 in 2 planes in peace time accidents) ,

without a decent ejection system for pilot survival,

are still regarded the best and certified as best by every IAF chief,

it keeps pin drop silence when it has to ground and junk ,

the entire fleet of Mig-27s because of the "ultimate unserviceable engine planes that killed a group captain at crash".

and latter declared unworthy to risk young pilot's life on it,

Faulty Jaguars shafted on IAF with worthless navigational system,

useless west land helicopters,

Also how it keeps a pin drop silence on a much more stealthy two seater FGFA version ,

which was promised by Sukhoi design team during the signing of JV,

and later not fulfilled and the responsibility dumped on hapless HAL,



Atleast the HAl takes 7 to 8 months to service the DHURV and after the service they are safe to fly.

What about the safety records of MIGS after deep overhauls?

And what about the totally unserviceable MIG-27s which were grounded?

It would be very interesting to know the IAF's views on these issues in papers presented on seminars as well.

Will any air cmde ever present any papers on these issues in any aeorindia seminars?

Army gets its first indigenously-made Rudra attack chopper

BANGALORE: The first indigenously-developed weaponised helicopter 'Rudra' was on Friday handed over to the Army which has successfully raised an attack chopper fleet on its own.

This is the first of the 60 armed helicopters provided to the Army by the Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) after the defence ministry handed over the control of all attack helicopters to the land force.

"This is a very important system for us as it will be the first platform (of choppers) which is weaponized. In any battle, fire (power) and manoeuvrability should be closely integrated to support ground operations and provide immediate help if and when required.

"This (Rudra) will help us to get that capability," Army deputy chief Lt Gen Narendra Singh told reporters here.

"The first squadron of the helicopters would be operationalized soon. We will have 60 choppers and one squadron will have 10 of them," Army Aviation Corps' Maj Gen PK Bharali told here.

He was talking on the sidelines of a function where HAL chairman RK Tyagi officially handed over the chopper to the Army.

Bharali said a total of 60 Rudras would be inducted into the Army and the machines will be part of six squadrons.

The chopper is armed with air-to-air missiles such as the 'Mistral', rocket pods and heavy machine guns to help the ground forces with close air support. The Army is also planning to procure the under-development Light combat helicopter (LCH) being produced by the HAL.

Recently, after a long tussle between the Army and the Air Force, the defence ministry decided to give control of all the future acquisitions of attack choppers to the land force.

The Army has plans of having a squadron-each of weaponized choppers in each of the pivot corps and a full-fledged attack chopper squadron with each of the three Strike Corps.
