It does not have much significance in foreign policy as far as i have seen . Its a formal group . Right now groups of importance for india in my view are QUAD , BRICS , BIMSTEC .
QUAD because CCP threat is real . Not imaginary . Be it economic supply chain or military . BRICS because we are a country in Asia . We have to engage Russia and china thorough some group and maintain certain relation with important countries in global south . BIMSTEC should be our region of influence . Africa is important as well and ll be probably going to have big significance for india in coming decades .

long term impact will be a positive one, it prevents their respective govts from fully engaging with Government of India.

Western govts especially murica have a habit of being tone deaf when it comes to bilateral relationships, from their point of view a congressman elected from middle of no where in murica knows more about partner country than partner country themselves. almost every foreign policy cock up by murica can be traced back to this characteristic of murican diplomacy.

So let them keep misreading india and let them keep funding academics & “research scholars” who feed their establishment confirmation bias.

Let’s not forget, when they say their target is hindutva or Hindu religion, it just means their real target is Bharat.
a more elaborate argument on the above thought has now come in a book.
check the thread below for excerpts from the book.

Indians working for DC think tanks are the worst advisors and mediocre.

Delhi should stay away from their influence.

not just Indians, it applies to all nationalities working in think tank circles in DC. it’s a feature of murican foreign policy.

only the CCP has been able to resist it, and turned the tables with their own counter narrative using Pro-CCP white folks sitting in DC.

No one is under their influence. They are useful only to speak what usa can't say directly. So it keep flow of expectations open.
mostly true but not 100%. there are quite a few influential bureaucrats who want their family get education or get settled in usa in exchange of US influence. There are many ways to buy indians.

We are slowly maturing our own national ecosystem which takes important decisions. If us influence worked so much we would have bought f16-21.

US influence works on us but not because of few bureaucracts but because we want better trade and ties with usa. Without access to usa market our growth will be diminished. So we anyway need to cut some corners for USA . Besides against China we need us military equipment in naval domain and us engines for well everything until we get our own.

So we need to welcome some US influence for next 2-3 decades untill we become an economic giant

I came across this happening, Ivy leagues take money from Rich Indian donors, supports Anti-india groups.

if Rich Indian donors are not objecting to these things, what does it say about these "Rich Indian Donors".
it's not like they don't know or they haven't been told by anyone, they have professional teams to watch what public are saying about them.
