Whatever trade happens with paxtan, whatever they want to buy, they must be forced to pay in USD/EUR, cash, upfront. PKR is toilet paper. Watch them writhe and squirm as they deplete their forex reserves. Impose massive tariffs as well for good measure. We don't have to export anything to paxtan.

I doubt GoI is eager to allow trade to resume. Congress might gather a few traders and exporters to try and lobby in favor of it. We simply have no incentive to trade with a bankrupt enemy nation that sells anything of value, that others are already selling. Now all the opposition in the Parliament must also understand this, and everyone needs to agree in continuing the trade ban. Can't have political opponents taking this chance to fire potshots.

A lot of Indian products end up in Pakistan anyway, rerouted through UAE and other middle eastern countries. Essentially, they're paying double the amount of taxes and shipping fees and our traders make more money as well. So it's quite beneficial to keep the current status quo with no direct trade. As India's manufacturing prowess will increase over the decade, this issue will become even worse for them as our products will be harder to avoid.

That 2-3 billion USD affects the retail inflation a lot, and takes away the pressure from their establishment. Stuff like grains, vegetables and fruits. Let the retail inflation stay high there. Opening the trade means Pakis coming this side of the border as well. Nothing good has ever come out of it.

As far as manufactured and packaged goods are concerned, they're already sold via Dubai with a margin slurping Arab in the interim. Let porks pay that premium to their daddies in the middle East.
