Nehru wasn't even an elected leader at that point. Rajendra Prasad, Sardar Patel and Nehru were the 3 pillars of Indian leadership in those times immediately after the adoption of the constitution and the elections of 1952. Getting one of them to attend was enough to understand that the Indian state had expressed its approval. Even MK Gandhi had given his approval for the reconstruction of Somnath. Too bad that Nehru's Britishness continued long after the British left India.Lehru stayed away from Somnath like the cliche where a possessed guy avoids holy places.
Lehru is their icon, the goodestgoykaffir.
The Samrat Chakravartin today meanwhile behaved like the Kings of old.
