RAWALPINDI: Pakistan International Airlines’ (PIA) domestic flight operations were badly affected, as 14 flights were cancelled and four others delayed due to a halt in the supply of fuel to the airline, over non-payment of dues on Monday.

According to official sources, Pakistan State Oil (PSO) has stopped the supply of fuel to the national flag carrier over the issue of non-payment of dues.

A PIA spokesperson confirmed to Dawn that flight operations were severely affected due to suspension of the fuel supply to the airline as 14 domestic flights were cancelled, while four others were delayed for several hours.

He said that negotiations between the PIA management and PSO were underway until late on Monday night.

The cancelled flights included two from Islamabad to Gilgit, one from Islamabad to Quetta, one from Karachi to Sukkur, one from Islamabad to Multan and one from Karachi to Faisalabad.

Likewise, PIA flight PK304 from Karachi to Lahore was delayed for about three hours due to suspension of fuel at Karachi airport. The flight was scheduled to depart at 2pm, however, it left after a delay of three hours.

PIA flight PK305 from Lahore to Karachi was delayed due to its delayed arrival in Lahore.

Another PIA flight, PK308 from Karachi to Islamabad was also delayed due to fuel suspension. And later on, PIA flight PK309 from Islamabad to Karachi was also delayed.

Due to cancellation and delay of PIA flights, hundreds of passengers have been facing inconvenience for past several days. They were not only the travelers, but flight crew was also facing inconvenience due to delay in flights departures.

Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar had already directed authorities concerned to expedite the privatisation process of Pakistan International Airline as the airline has been facing financial crisis.

WASHINGTON: Immigration officials in New York City have apprehended an international fugitive wanted in Brazil for prosecution for the crime of active corruption of a public official.

The 32-year-old Pakistani citizen and permanent resident of Brazil was held outside his home in Queens, the New York Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) service said.

The service, which is affiliated with the US Department of Justice, did not name the suspect. The ERO, however, said that on Aug 26, 2014, the Department of State post in Islamabad, had refused to issue the non-citizen a non-immigrant B1/B2 visa.

The US Border Patrol arrested the non-citizen April 5, 2016, in California, and served him with a notice and order of expedited removal charging him as an immigrant without a valid, unexpired immigrant visa, reentry permit, border crossing card or other valid entry paper.

Since 2016, the non-citizen was out on bond as he proceeded through the immigration process.

On March 7, an assistant US attaché to Brazil provided ERO New York City with information pertaining to the non-citizen’s international fugitive status.

Fugitive Operations officers from ERO arrested the non-citizen on Oct 11, and cancelled his bond. He will remain in custody pending continuation of his removal proceedings.

Pakistan's out of school children are 30 times more than India despite having a population 6 times less than us. This shithole is a massive fuckup of epic proportions.

India had 13.46 million children out of school back in 2006, which is about 17 years ago. Pakis have more than double that and it's only increasing! A lack of education would mean that the fertility rate will further skyrocket. They are basically a demographic bomb that will explode catastrophically in the next 20-30 years and thanks to it's location, they are going to fucking blow up the security situation in the subcontinent, West Asia and Central Asia all at once. I seriously hope our borders will continue remaining extremely tight even if at some point Indo-Pak relations improve and continue ostracizing whichever crayon-munching libbu dares to take a moral high ground on this.

The only thing I see happening in future is Indo-Pak situation becoming a carbon copy of Israel-Palestine situation. Only worse.

Having Biryani >>> Winning World Cup.
These clowns have a very stupid habit of mixing meat in everything
This is dosa in Pakistan. Who in the hell puts chicken and kheema in dosa?
Food poisoning is almost guaranteed if the meat is uncooked even 10%
This is why I eat chicken and fish only when it’s cooked by me or someone I can trust. I avoid nonveg outside for this reason.
