Service cieling of the F-35 is 10k+ feet more than the Rafale which also allows for longer range launch of the Meteor as well (to be integrated soon), heck Rafale isn't the best for long range interceptions.

Niggas talk like there are many aircraft out there that can match the speed. For the moment only the F-15 speed demon can keep up with such fast aircraft.

The F-22 can go beyond Mach2 but with afterburners.

The Pentagon plan to save the F-35’s logistics system hinges on whether Lockheed will relinquish data control

The Pentagon and Lockheed Martin are at odds over how much data the military can have access to for its own jet, the F-35, and that’s creating renewed friction in the fight to fix longstanding issues with the automated logistics system vital to keeping it flying.

Just a fact - neither can Mach 1.7 Rafale catch a Mach 2 bomber if it comes to a chase.

But air combat is not really about giving chase.
It's mach 1.8 operationnal limit.
During tests it flies up to mach 2, but for an unknown reason (unknown to me) the operationnal limit was reduced. Maybe to reduce maintenance.

sorry? What is the real ceilling of the fat brick?
Not what it is written on the marvellous LM documents (you know, the papers where it is written "supercruise", "F16like agile", "FOC in 2016"...).
I have a big doubt.

But it's still not Mach 2. And that Mach1.8 will be reduced to Mach1.7 or below (with afterburners) if Rafale is saddled with 3 EFTs and missiles.

Those 4 F-35Bs can destroy an entire squadron of French Rafales.
Maybe when FOC.
in 2016.
No, 2018.
No, 2020.
Fuck, another miss. Now in 2024.
and so one....

Until then, it's just an evolved trainer, with the ability to release some bombs.

Just like the f-35 was test up to mach 1.6 , probably just to reduce maintenance.

That's still US tech, Korean manufacturers. Look for Universal Display Corporation the patent holders of most OLED tech.
US utility patents only last for 20 years. LG holds the patent on P-OLED tech which is wholly owned by them.

F-35 availability rates hit 33%

The program is having trouble keeping the F-35s mission-capable, an odd problem for a brand-new fleet. The overall F-35 fleet was capable of performing all of its tasked missions only about a third of the time, said Diana Maurer, defense capabilities and management director for the Government Accountability Office, on Wednesday.

The problem could threaten the military’s ability to respond to threats.

“As you well know, if we are missing parts and can’t get our jets airborne, our ability to deliver combat effects on this aircraft is significantly diminished,” said Lt. Gen. Eric Fick, the Pentagon’s F-35 program executive.

If F-35 availability is this low in US. Then god knows what other countries will be doing with this jet :notsure:
