The LCA design is frozen for years. That doesn't mean it can't be optimised. The skill of Dassault is well known, specially for Delta.

About Kaveri, very few news in France.... I don't know if it goes in the right direction or not.
LCA's design is being optimized with LCA MK-2, AMCA will be optimized by the time it gets FOC.

Engine are a huge opportunity for France. France should take Advantage of current tension and uncertainties among us India and offer indo- french joint engine for lca , mwf and amca and even AURA drone. They together present opportunity for 1000+ engine and more over lifetime of these planes . Huge business for France if it can wrestle it away from usa.

Dassault first has to deliver the Rafale and hope for a second order.

The consortium that created the Rafale (that includes Safran and Thales ) is probably the most capable on the planet (next to the F35 project).

You think these world class companies have nothing to offer for India’s next gen a/c? If not them who?

IF India goes shopping for partners France should be top of the list. US won’t give what India wants and Russia will fleece and fleece and never deliver.
Dassault can offer in offset for a second deal (may be bigger than 36) or MMRCA2.... to assist HAL for designing AMCA.
It’s not HAL that is designing AMCA mate, it’s the DRDO’s aerospace R&D arm- ADA.

HAL will be a production partner for AMCA in all likelihood (although ADA wants private industry to be involved from day one.)

AMCA is nothing else than a paper project. Maybe some wind tunnel scale models, but it is far far from the end.

Dassault is one company, apart from capable air frames, I don't see how they are any better than Euro fighter or Saab.

Thales is a great company, joint ventures with them are fine. Snecma too but again I don't see how they are going to be of big help on the AMCA since for now, the AMCA pathforward seems more focused on local work (a good thing) with help of GE for engine till perhaps a new version of Kaveri comes around 2027 or so.

Also, IAF often prefers Israeli kit (for avionics, EW suites, jammers, weapons etc.).

Wasn't it Thales who refused to integrate Meteor on the LCA because we didn't choose their radar.

HAL will be the lead integrator and sure more Private industry will take part. Probably the MKI line will be transformed to AMCA line.

Well with AMCA we are way ahead of the French 5th gen fighter which hasn't even begun wind tunnel work. :rofl:What is called 'SCAT' or 'SHAT'?

LCA Tejas MK-1A is the optimized version of the LCA which itself would be great aircraft.

Funding of 8 F-15EXs for USAF is hard cry from any serious orders, what is absolutely amazing is that the US continues to sell a mid 60s era aircraft in 2020, everyone from Qatar, Saudi and Israeli's looking at more Advanced Eagles.

If you understand this strategy at all, the F-35 will be selling way past the life span of the SCAT or SHAT of whatever the new Dassault 5th gen fighter is called.

Qatar’s F-15s are the most advanced version of the fighter yet developed. But AMCA is not a Delta wing so no help needed there :) Thanks though. Perhaps we can help you with the SCAT or SHAT of whatever they call it.

It's not specially Dassault, but a whole french team that is the sole to offer a complete fighter in europe.
Eurofighter is the result of 4 nations, and the result costs more and is globally less capable than the french plane. SAAB rely on US engine, US FBW, the radar is not swedish... so very dependant.

IAF chose israeli kits, because it's good stuff, and because it's highly unlikely to see such weapons in the Pak army.

Meteor : Just see what was the recent reaction of the russian side when IAF wanted to integrate ASRAAM on Su30! same problem !

SCAF first flight is not well defined. in ten years nearly....
