Amreekis are shit scared. Saw some tweet wherein some US govt big shot saying, it's a dire situation for them, if Roosies or Cheenis find that lost aircraft, amreeka is doomed!
Debris located = USN found it. Otherwise like MH370 it would be untraceable!

Conspiracy theory:

Amreekis are good at deception. They might have announced this to the world to deflect the negative publicity and to confuse roosies and cheenis.

Tyler Rogoway, editor of The War Zone tweeted:

“If one of Japan’s F-35s is sitting at the bottom of the Pacific, we are probably about to see one of the biggest underwater espionage and counter-espionage ops since the Cold War. If it was operating without its radar reflectors pinpointing where it went in may be an issue,”

This is a good story to start when it comes to undersea recovery capabilities. As a background, the specially designed and equipped Glomar Explorer cost $350M in 1974:

Looks like this is the job for USS Jimmy Carter Seawolf class submarine specially configured to enable it to tap undersea cables and recover objects from the sea floor will be handy in searching for the F-35 wreckage:

At the Navy’s request, Electric Boat inserted an extension in the middle of Jimmy Carter‘s hull that added 100 feet to its standard 350-foot length — plus nearly $1 billion to the baseline $2 billion price tag. Commander Christy Hagen, a Navy spokesperson, declined to comment on the warship’s modifications.
But Owen Cote, a submarine expert at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, said Jimmy Carter‘s hull extension most likely contains a “moon well” — a floodable chamber to allow divers, robots and machinery to move between the sub’s interior and the water, retrieving objects off the seafloor or carrying monitoring devices and other surveillance equipment.

In #India, they believe that they may lose their chance on the F-35 after purchase of the S-400 Indian media remind that the #US has already begun the procedure of #CAATSA sanctions package against #Turkey, refusing further cooperation on F-35.

Shit happens. I am looking forward to the result of the investigation into this crash. Most likely this is due to mechanical failure.
The lost fighter was assembled in Japan. The investigation will start at the Japanese assembly line. This does not seem to be a fleet wife problem.

Only a portion of the tail had been found. Even good camera photos of the lost aircraft will be a treasure trove for China and Russia.

Nope. You need the plane. Reportedly USN Jimmy Carter was scrambled ASAP.

The whole area is cordoned off folks. Chinese or Russians can't enter without a skirmish. USS Ronald Reagan is based at Yosuka, the whole CBG is covering the search.

The plane fell in international waters and hence cannot be cordoned off legally. Russian and Chinese deep sea recovery vessels should be on their way if not already there, and they should be more than willing to take limited risks given the prize at hand. They will be on lookout for every opportunity. A vast area in open seas cannot be cordoned off easy - especially since no one knows how far the plane drifted.
The pilot gave mission abort signal prior to crash, but not mayday, indicating instrumentation problems with the plane's wiring. The pilot, who is quite experienced, might have taken the aircraft straight to water trying to troubleshoot the problem.

Nope, you seem to forget, they were a 4 ship and one crashed, they more or less knew where it crashed. As said, the whole area is in lock down already. I doubt anybody is going up against a CBG close by, 7 ships around, P-8s circling too. Over the next several days and weeks, the area will be sanitized.

I don't know where you are getting reports of lockdown. There is nothing in the link that suggests a lockdown. This is in open water. Nobody knows how far the wreckage might have drifted.

A lockdown will never be published but it's clear there are already several ships and aircraft coming the area, it would be difficult for anybody to get close.

My initial thought about the crash was possibly due to mechanical failure. But if it was a mechanical failure then why did the pilot not eject (it appears that way since the pilot apparently was not located)? Could it be that the F-35 pilot maneuvered his F-35 into the sea? But did the JSDF F-35 have A-GCAS?
