I don't think the government has officially announced the intent to buy a light tank it's all he said I heard kind of stories. Let's wait for some official confirmation. In the plains there is no use for it, Russia one has 125 mm gun. Let's wait for official confirmation.
Yeah, I know, that's why I said it'd be a mistake and not is a mistake, as in, we don't yet know whether that mistake has been made or not. And as for the use, I doubt they will be of much use in Ladakh either.

DRDO 35 metre mountain bridge. This is a modular system, each weighing less than 18kgs can be carried by soldiers, assembled to form a bridge of maximum span 35m and erected over wet/dry gaps within 90 minutes.Can use for defence and civilian purposes.

I kind of doubt that it is part of the naval nuclear reactor

AFAIK naval nuclear reactor is a single piece containment chamber , it doesn't have openings ( doors )
Looks more like an explosion containment vessel used to handle explosives safely.

US govt has refused to transfer 4 critical technologies to S. Korea for its 5th gen fighter programme: AESA radar, EO targeting pods, IRST system & RF jammer, despite these being promised by Lockheed Martin when South Korean Air Force signed up for the F-35A via
@ShephardNews

Sharing it here as a reminder that in the end we have reinvent the wheel. No one is going to give it us on a platter.

It's not a nuclear reactor vessel (RPV). The RPV albeit has opening nozzles for coolant inflow and outflow.

It looks like a some spherical storage vessel with single opening at Top (Door handles and hinges are quite visible in the GA drawing).

Straight away taken from Walchandnagar website without giving a second thought !!

This one is some kind of nuclear reactor pressure vessel . but not sure about if it is for Marine applications or land based . If you look at the picture the vessel is horizontally laid . May be For Subs if we have dimensions then we may have an idea about the type.

Instead of the K9 chassis I think L&T can use their FICV concept(they already have a prototype of sorts) to install the tank turret, very much like how the Sprut tank destroyer is based on the BMD-3 IFV.

Thank you. That is a god idea but then DRDO must collaboarete will all those who were part of FICV program including OFB and TATA and possibly kalyani...

OFB as it is wil be there because of their barrels...

I still think that the WHAAP is a better and almost ready platform , add a 105 MM or a 120 MM MGS's and have a Compact tank fully ready , well if a APS , ia added that could possibly add protection's to the armoured Vehicle's . But again the procument's .

THREAD!!!
Bhai Saheb, only airborne operations of Para brigade can utilise light tanks there...

More than that India would require Lt Tanks for amphibious operations.. and riverine terrain...

But let Indian Army clearly decide whether they want a tank or an Anti Tank gun missile SP platform ... like Russian sprut.. or a 38 ton tank like T-15.. both are doctrinally different..

Alternatively one can think of Light tank for Recce and Support battalions with Nag missile launchers and 125mm Gun...

How do you know its a RPV ??

General layout of Naval reactor;

Horizontal laid vessel doesn't mean that its a nuclear reactor. And take a look at its dimension; 1.1 m Dia spherical vessel. I won't comment on the actual size but the RPV certainly is bigger than that.

Now comes the design part, at operating pressure of 10-15 MPa, and size exceeding 2 meters, you would certainly like to avoid forged spherical vessel (Fabrication Constrains ?? ). Most frivolous thing is the opening; it won't provide good sealing unless flange-bolted or welded. (Basic mechanical engg??)
